Content Strategy

Masters of Conquest is a real-time competitive experience. Join one of three clans in their interplanetary war for conquest.

All the action going on in a single match just wouldn't fit in an arena... So we present you the "Battle Planet". Choose your faction, join assaults, claim factories, confront your enemies, do whatever you need to conquer all in our Multiplayer Online Battle Planet.

Play Entertainment, the team developing Masters of Conquest, hired me as an independent marketing consultant to structure their virtual presence so it represented the value of their project. They were in advanced stages of development and already had original artwork.

Goals

  • Structure virtual presence before the release.

So I started working on a general polish of their branding and PR. We wanted to make sure their audience could appreciate the full scope of this game.

Branding

By this point DNX Gaming had already started, our design department developed for them a simple vector logo. It was meant to tie together their experience in an easy-to-remember image.

To make sure visitors learn about the most appealing parts of the game as fast as possible, I wrote an elevator pitch. Then I added calls to action meant to improve traffic conversion.

The differentiating factor of the game in its current state of development was the open world PVP feature. The gaming marketing is getting more and more titles with "idle PVP" mechanics, where you can challenge other users, but not to an actual competition. The winner of the game is decided by the highest "Overall Power" of each player with a randomization component.

Masters of Conquest has real-time skill competition enhancing it's social component. So we choose to focus the short sale on this.

The rest of the pitch focused on listing all the features that enhanced the autonomy component. That way the pitch displayed a complete gaming experience for the visitors.
