Have you received a Request for Evidence (RFE) from USCIS, the U.S. Passport Agency, or a U.S. embassy or consulate requesting DNA testing to verify your claimed biological relationship? DTN assists petitioners throughout Newark and Essex County, New Jersey with immigration DNA testing for USCIS, U.S. embassies, consulates, and passport cases.
All legal relationship DNA testing is coordinated through our partner AABB-accredited laboratory. This accreditation ensures that your DNA testing process follows the evidence submission requirements established by USCIS, the U.S. Passport Agency, and U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide.
Before scheduling your DNA test, one of our Immigration DNA Consultants will review your case to determine your current stage in the immigration process. This helps prevent submitting DNA evidence too early and reduces the risk of unnecessary delays with your immigration case.
We generally do not recommend performing immigration DNA testing before receiving an official request from USCIS, the U.S. Passport Agency, or a U.S. embassy or consulate. Immigration DNA testing is considered secondary evidence and is typically performed only after the requesting government agency instructs you to do so.
Performing DNA testing before an official request may affect whether the results satisfy the chain-of-custody and evidence submission requirements established for your immigration case. For this reason, we recommend following the procedures provided by the requesting agency.
Before any testing begins, one of our DNA Consultants will explain the required procedures, discuss your available options, and answer any questions you may have so you understand how the process works. If, after receiving this information, you decide to proceed outside the recommended process, we will ensure you understand the potential implications before your case moves forward.
