I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Theoretical Economics, Faculty of Economic Sciences at Higher School of Economics (HSE) and Senior Research Fellow at the International Laboratory for Macroeconomic Analysis at HSE in Moscow, Russia.
My primary research areas include growth and development, political economy of development, macroeconomics. I work on topics related to the interplay between political economy, endogenous institutions, inequality, culture and long-run economic growth.
I have a strong interest in developing courses that explore the frontier of our knowledge on evolution of human societies and socio-economic development (see my courses here).
