Film/Animation Festivals
The iVIE film festival is a San Diego County-wide major film festival for students K-12, with prizes for the winners of each.
The CSMF (California Student Media Festival) is a free-to-enter state-wide film festival for K-12, that anyone can attend
You can submit the same video to both the CSMF & iVIE festivals. The festivals start accepting applications in the late winter/spring, with deadlines in the spring. (will be updated with exact dates once available) For any help on a film you make, you can contact the Student Foundation for help with storyboards, filming, editing, animating, or any other issues you may have. You can also enter your videos to both festivals through the Student Foundation.

A super basic introduction to Figure Drawing, a subject considered to be rather difficult. This book, as the name implies, is targeted for beginners, but also has advice for experienced artists. It goes through drawing basic shapes, then facial features, and eventually the full body, although there isn't a particular set path you have to follow.
