Key issues for TDSB

The TDSB continues to have financial issues balancing budgets -there is a constant challenge to reduce the number of teachers and cut programs to save money to balance the budget. I believe the board can work with the other school boards to find savings that can be used to avoid reducing teachers and programs

I would work with the provincial government to allow the TDSB to sell surplus school properties to repair schools and replace school buildings that cannot be repaired

I would work towards funding for more education assistants

I would work towards more focus and resources on the mental health of students. Extra curricular programs are beneficial for students mental health and interest in school. The arts and music contribute to students mental health as well.

I would review the TDSB's administrative costs for savings that can be used to fund education assistants and arts programs.
