Note: In addition we have enhanced compatibility and added functionality for the all-new djay Remote 2.0 for iPhone (available on the App Store, free update for existing djay Remote users)

General:

In addition, the older djay versions are now legacy apps, which means they are no longer for sale, and there is limited support available. In addition, many of the older djay apps on macOS are not supported on newer macOS versions. You can find more information in our FAQ:

@SupaStevie and @SingZout the Windows beta of djay Pro AI is still working on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro. Can you please confirm what version of Windows you are using? Did you recently update it?

Embedded Artwork

As pointed out, the better way to do it is to embed the album art directly into the audio file. djay Pro does seem to have an easier time finding the artwork if it is embedded in the file. But while the results are better, I still get glitches when files are managed in iTunes/Apple Music, even when those files have embedded artwork!

I saw tracks without cover on my iPad which surely have embedded artwork on my Mac (used Dougs script on all tracks).

I searched the track in music.app on my Mac, played it for a second until the cover appeared in music.app. I closed music.app and synced my iPad again.

After this, the cover art was shown on music.app and djay pro.

The issue has to do with djay being sandboxed, which is required for updated apps on the Mac App Store. It seems that the Numark drivers are not compatible with sandboxing and need to be updated for compatibility.

The current version of DJCU does NOT support djay Pro 5.0, it works fine with djay Pro AI 4.0

from Traktor Pro

to Rekordbox, iTunes, Serato, VirtualDJ and djay

The DJ Conversion Utility converts hot cues, saved loops and beat grids from Native Instruments Traktor Pro to Pioneer's Rekordbox. Cues are stored both as hot cues as well as memory cues and keep their given names.

The converted folders and playlists in Rekordbox will appear identical to how they are in Traktor, with the nesting structure intact.

from Rekordbox, Traktor Pro, Virtual DJ and Serato DJ Pro

to djay Pro 2 on macOS and djay 2 and Pro on iOS

The DJ Conversion Utility (DJCU) converts cue points and loops with their names from Rekordbox to Algoriddim's djay. Serato DJ Pro, VDJ and Traktor users need to use DJCU to create a Rekordbox.xml than take that file as a source for DJCU's Rekordbox conversion. DJCU will generate a file that can be used with the latest versions of the djay apps on both platforms iOS and macOS.

Because djay iPhone does not support loops yet the iOS-friendly option converts the start of a loop to a cue.

On macOS, all 8 loops and all 8 cues with their names are converted.

from Serato DJ Pro

to Rekordbox, iTunes, Traktor, VirtualDJ and djay

DJCU is the most elegant and easiest way to convert your Serato DJ crates to Rekordbox. There are 3 different variations for assigning cues and loops to Rekordbox's hot and memory banks.

The converted folders and playlists in Rekordbox will appear identical to how the crates look in Serato, with their nesting structure intact.

The following Rekordbox data is converted to Serato:

Yes, the LC6000 works with an iPad using the Apple Camera Connection Kit. The LC6000 is officially supported by Algoriddim djay pro and will work with other DJ apps that offer manual MIDI mapping.

The Deck Select feature is for third-party software (Serato DJ, Virtual DJ, Algoriddim djay Pro). The LC6000 only ever controls layer B of a connected Dual-Layer Media Player and is not needed when used in standalone mode.

About the download, djay is a light software that takes up less free space than most software in the section Audio & Video. It's a software mostly downloaded in some countries such as Belgium, United States, and Australia.

djay is a digital music mixing software program for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows,[1] iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch created by the German company algoriddim. It allows playback and mixing of digital audio files with a user interface that tries to simulate the concept of "two turntables and a microphone" on a computer. Before the commercial release in November 2007, djay had initially been released as freeware in June 2006.[2] In December 2010 the software was also released for the iPad,[3] and subsequently for iPhone and iPod Touch in March 2011.[4]

djay's iTunes integration allows the user to mix songs directly from the iTunes library. It provides the option of browsing the library, for example by Playlist, Artist, Album, Genre, Key or History. Dragging songs onto the turntables in djay, transforms them into virtual records complete with album art.

Automix mode enables djay to automatically mix songs from the iTunes library, and play them instantaneously with DJ-style transitions. Using the Automix Queue the user can step in any time and immediately queue up tracks.

djay's instantaneous beat and tempo detection allows the user to match the BPM of two songs for a transition. On pressing the SYNC button the software automatically syncs the BPM of the two songs so that both are smoothly aligned.

Mac has a tool called the Multi-Touch trackpad. djay can dynamically utilize this trackpad to fully control the software with versatile Multi-Touch gestures. For example, a rotating gestures can adjust the EQ, while two finger swipe gesture can scratch the record and operate the crossfader.

There is a built-in sample pack featuring 20 high-quality sounds made by ueberschal, a company in the sampling industry. In addition, djay allows the user to create custom samples from the turntables or the microphone.

djay includes three FX control panes for different mixing styles: a one-touch panel for instant FX, a custom pane, and a 2D touch interface. Effects include Flanger, Phaser, Echo, Gate, Bit Crusher, Filter (High Pass, Low Pass), as well as six preconfigured instant effects: Absorb, Drift, Sway, Crush, Punch, Twist are bundled in with djay.

djay has a range of different looping styles: Auto, Manual and Bounce. The use can manually set loop in and out points, use Auto-Loop to continuously loop part of a song, or remix live using Bounce-Loop to mash up the song, all in perfect sync with the beat.

The program can work with iCloud (and iTunes Match), meaning the user can sync it with the iTunes library in the cloud. In other words, tunes are synced between every iOS device connected on the cloud. All of these devices can run djay, and cues and BPM information edited or added in will appear immediately in all of the others. There is a remote control available for iOS to control the djay app on the MacBook over WiFi.[6]

djay allows the user to preview and prepare the next song through headphones before playing it on the main speakers by simply connecting a USB audio interface or splitter cable. The software offers different audio hardware configurations.

Today, streaming music has become an integral part of the DJ community as a whole, and most streaming services provide a green channel for DJs for musical creation. But when speaking of Spotify, it's no longer integrated with most DJ products on July 1, 2020, and djay Pro is not exceptional.

The only way to upload Spotify to djay Pro is first to download Spotify music as local audio files. Yet in general, Spotify songs are all protected from transferring or copying. In which case, Algoriddim users will need help from NoteBurner Spotify Music Converter.

Spotify is a streaming music service offering encrypted Ogg-formatted songs, which can be listened to within the Spotify app only. So no matter you want to play Spotify on djay Pro or other non-licensed DJ software, there's always a way out after using NoteBurner Spotify music downloader.

More to the point, NoteBurner enables to keep 100% original audio quality from the high-quality music streaming from Spotify, settings are available to choose up to 320kbps and 192kHz rates. With this professional NoteBurner software, Spotify will become still working now on djay Pro! Before it's too late, check the main features of NoteBurner below, and don't forget to read the following tutorial on importing Spotify to djay Pro. ff782bc1db
