Last couple of weeks I've been trying to find dlc in the most difficult category. I've mastered songs from parliament's want the funk to Muse's hysteria to Rush's Tom Sawyer. I do own the primus pack as well but that's just to magical to ever learn. Any suggestions/hidden gems I should check out?

So the in-game music store has tabs for the hardest songs for guitar, and the hardest songs for drums (maybe not to FC, but) but no such tab for bass. That begs the question... what's the hardest bass song in the Rock Band database?

It lets you upload (or share a URL) a song, which it splits into vocals, drums, bass and guitar/other. It lets you then isolate any of these tracks. Quality was varied - sometimes the bass was a bit low/murky or other tracks not quite right but generally pretty decent. The paid version also lets you change tempo and switch keys.

For some reason, I can't find much bass in any ID song (except for Radioactive and Amsterdam) and I can't hear it in songs like Friction, Warriors, Believer, and Natural. Can anyone help me find bass in those songs?

Another trick a lot of bass players use, is to slow down the recording. While back in the day bass players had to change the speed of their record player, nowadays you can just use software for it. One way to do this is using an app like the Amazing Slow Downer. I however prefer to use the recording software I have. Changing the tempo of a recording is a built-in feature that comes with Logic, Cubase, and basically any other DAW. Slowing down the recording can change Thundercat bass fills from something scary to a relaxing walk in the park.

Tip: Youtube also allows you to playback videos at slower speed. Click here to figure out how.

This skill will come in handy when there is no bass guitar on a recording and someone still wants you to play. Or when you have to last minute figure the chord progression of a song out through a telephone speaker.

I have a friend who is thinking of playing bass. I'm going to start giving them lessons on guitar/bass as a result. To help keep it fun, I also want them to play Rocksmith when they come over. I just wanted to know, what's the absolute easiest RS2014 song for bass in the game? Since I usually play guitar, I'm not familiar with the bass on all the songs yet.

I just started lessons again yesterday. I have a lot of exercises to work on to improve my fingerboard knowledge. My teacher also recommends not just learning songs by ear but transcribing them, so I'm supposed to pick three songs to work on. The first song I've chosen is "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder because I love that unison solo/riff.

I've always thought Manifest Destiny was just a killer bass line! Slinkly, smooth, original and groovy! You can't beat the in betweeness/halfsteps achieved on the fretless. (I am thinking of the right tune correct??? Starts off with the bassline?)

I believe i found the sublime song with the most bass, i have the bass turned up in my car and it vibrated my rearview at a normal volume, so i turned up the volume almost to what i normally listen at and the bass was extreme! The song is sweet little rosie from the box set album, everybody needs to listen to it at a high volume in a car (with a subwoofer would be better) and its just so insane, the amount of bass thats there

If you just got a new subwoofer or pair of monitors, see how low your system goes with heavy bass songs in a variety of genres. Take any of these for a spin and see for yourself which are the best songs to test bass with!

Skyharbor are a progressive metal outfit from India (with a former English vocalist, and current American one). Their arrangements are quite dense; 7-string rhythm guitars, ambient guitar, synthesizers, and more. The mix in this song is particularly tasteful, and the bass guitar fills in a very obvious spot where you can hear it prominently throughout the track amidst the denseness of the rest of the instruments.

I was thinking about this today as it is the 6th anniversary of the day I got my bass guitar from my parents. I still remember my dad, a guitar player, helping me play Your Move, covered by Shaw-Blades. It's pretty easy, just E-A-B-A almost the whole time, but I remember how awesome it felt to take something so awesome and make music with it, knowing it was mine.

"Rescue Me" is a rhythm and blues song first recorded and released as a single by Fontella Bass in 1965.[1]The original versions of the record,[2] and BMI,[3] give the songwriting credit to Raynard Miner and Carl William Smith, although many other sources also credit Bass herself as a co-writer.[4][5][6][7][8] It would prove the biggest hit of Bass's career, reaching #1 on the R&B charts for four weeks and placing at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.[9][1] "Rescue Me" also peaked at #11 on the UK Singles Chart.[10]

According to writer Robert Pruter in his book Chicago Soul, the song emerged from a songwriting and rehearsal, or "woodshedding", session at Chess Records:[11] " 'Rescue Me' was a terrific example of the Chess studio system at its finest... One Saturday in August 1965, Bass was sitting in a rehearsal studio with producers-writers Carl Smith and Raynard Miner. They were fooling around with the song when arranger Phil Wright walked in, and the ensuing four-way jam session brought forth 'Rescue Me'. [Billy] Davis produced the side..." Bass claimed that, although Smith, Miner and Davis had assured her that her contribution to authorship of the song's lyrics would be acknowledged, this was never done.[12][1]

So recently I've been writing some music on guitar, but I'm kind of confused about how to add bass to it. Are there certain rules when it comes to having the bass play along with the guitar? Is it okay to just write something that sounds similar on the bass and have it play along, or are there certain notes that the bass should play? I know I probably sound pretty dumb right now, but I'd appreciate some help from you music lovers. Please keep in mind that I'm not too familiar with a lot of music terms. My knowledge is kind of limited to what I've learned in choir a few years ago. Thank you in advance.

Released a year after the ill-fated Cactus Revisited E.P., "Pop Goes the Weasel" instantly became a hit and soon went gold. The song helped the album reach gold status a month later. The song's message was similar to "Gas Face", voicing criticism towards the many mainstream commercial rap artists that had been gaining attention in the early 1990s (such as Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer).

The song features funk samples from the J.B.'s and Stevie Wonder as well as rock samples of The Who's "Eminence Front", and the foundation sample was from Peter Gabriel's #1 hit, "Sledgehammer". Production came from John Gamble, Geeby Dajani, and Dante Ross (noted for their groundbreaking work on Brand Nubian and Grand Puba's debut albums).

So I've been in the paradigm for a long time of making hip hop and trap, or other genres that have heavy sub bass. My measure for how well my bass is produced is whether it "bumps" in my friends car smoothly and not too chaotically. I've been moving to producing other genres much more lately like pop and synth rock and synthwave, and i was listening to some pop music the other day, and it really didn't have much sub bass at all, besides a constant sub hit from the kick drum. Most of the bass was confined to the bass frequencies and rarely dipped into the sub frequencies at all, besides maybe some sweeps or impacts.

So Moving Pictures really is kind of a pivot point, both for the band stylistically and for Geddy in terms of his bass gear. It is (I think?) well known that he used both the Rick and the Jazz on Moving Pictures, but which one does he use on which song, and how can you tell?

This is a leap into a long, repetitive, yet simple bass part that keeps you on your toes. You learn how to deal with triplets, eight notes, and rhythm variations. Be sure to be well hydrated before taking this on!

You may feel intimidated whenever you break away from standard rock chord structures, but in this song, you can work on the blues and infuse some funk. With enough repetition, it will become second nature.

Cheers man for the reply, ye i like your stuff its pretty cool, i like the hall oats tune. pretty catchy. im from england. i dont dj no, iv really just started so i want to get as much help and tips as possible because i want to make some kool DnB songs. stuff like noisia etc.

i love it as well. i dont know about you all, but i always split my bass into 2; a lowpassed one thats all sine or whatever (lowbass), and a highpassed one thats all mids and highs. also i find, especially for that noisia type bass sound (hazard as well) to start out with a much brighter sound than you actually are looking for, find the sweet spot with the filter and ride the cutoff slightly. the key is to start with WAY more frequencies than you think you need! e24fc04721
