hi how do i get the decks to see the laptop to update the firmware & can i join the 2 decks together or do i have to wait for the mixer, ive tried puting the laptop on one of them with no luck sorry for being a complete pleb.

What does 2 Channel 4 deck mean? can i load up 4 songs in different decks even tho the controller has 2 turntables and 2 channel faders (probably need to hook up extra turntables for the 4 decks tho)? if so im cool with that. otherwise is that a thing if 2 channel 4 deck means something else?

I am looking for an audio card with which I can control the 4 decks of Traktor(I use a macbook pro) with external 4 channel mixer .Previously there was audio 10 but the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 that comes out now ,I do not understand if it will serve me for this purpose. At the moment the audio card I have is the focusritte clarett 2 pre usb and I don't think that the audio 6 will be equal .The thoughts are :

If I am reading you correctly, you are not going to be able to record your mixes with the current setup, since your usb soundcard outputs discrete audio tracks from tractor, that are then fed unmixed from the soundcard into your purely analogue mixer. The master outs are currently not going anywhere near the computer.

Actually thinking about this again a better option may be a bigger upgrade of your soundcard to find something not only with a line in but also 4 outputs, so you can map the Traktor remix decks to spare channels on your mixer.

If I am reading him correctly his decks are connected by usb to the computer where the functionality (jog wheels, pitch control, etc) act as a sort of midi controller for tracks otherwise played via Traktor.

Still getting to grips with my OT (this thing is deeeep) but I was wondering how practical the unit is to use as a dedicated media player playing tracks via the static machine for say a DJ mix (i.e. track selection, cueing ect) with a few live FX thrown over the top via the fader?

I guess the four outputs would still have to go into an external mixer for ease of use or could it all be done easily within the unit if it was set up the right way?
