"Ringtone (remix)" is a song by American experimental musical duo 100 gecs, composed of Dylan Brady and Laura Les, from their remix album 1000 Gecs and the Tree of Clues (2020). The song features vocals from British singer Charli XCX, American rapper Rico Nasty, and British singer Sarah Bonito of the indie pop band Kero Kero Bonito. The song is a remix of "Ringtone" from 100 Gecs' debut studio album 1000 Gecs (2019). The song's production is glitchy with "80's video game-inspired blips" and uses heavy bass and Auto-Tune.

"Ringtone (remix)" was first previewed at a live DJ set in January 2020. Jillian Mapes of Pitchfork wrote that "Ringtone (remix)" plays like a Charli XCX song with Rico Nasty serving in a featured artist role and Kero Kero Bonito providing supporting vocals.[3] Mapes stated that the production is resemblant of PC Music's work and predicted that the song would become an Internet hit.[3] Brendan Wetmore of Paper praised the original version as one of the standout songs off of 1000 Gecs, but wrote that "the addition of the all-star cast for new verses makes the remix a certified hit".[12] Madeline Roth of MTV wrote that Charli XCX is a "natural fit for the gecs universe" and praised Nasty's and Kero Kero Bonito's bubbly performances.[15] Patrick Johnson of Hypebeast described Charli XCX's chorus as catchy.[13]

Who says Microsoft isn't fun? The tech giant recently added a TikTok remix as a ringtone on Teams. Calum Newton, better known as CandyMoore.mp3 on social media, created the jingle. The original version featured a snippet from Microsoft founder Bill Gates, but that didn't make the final cut.

Microsoft added the new ringtone, titled "Remix," to Teams this week. It should automatically appear within the dropdown menu for ringtones within the settings section of the app. If it doesn't appear, you may need to check for an update.

You can only change your Teams ringtone on the desktop or web clients of the app, but swapping it carries over to the mobile versions of Teams. Note that changing your ringtone anywhere automatically swaps it on all devices.

Microsoft has added a humorous TikTok remix of its classic Teams ringtone as a custom option in Teams. You can now add this Microsoft-endorsed version to Teams if you're tired of the classic ringtone.

According to Newton, his original remix post didn't get many views, but it blew up after another user posted a video of him dancing to it. Lots of other TikTok users then posted versions too, including Bill Gates who used the remix in a post wishing Microsoft happy birthday.

One of these remixes (perhaps the one made by Gates) caught the attention of Microsoft, which reached out to Newton and asked him to a create a version that it could share with Teams users. Unfortunately the version Microsoft asked Newton to create scrubs the Gates vocals, but Microsoft says his "incredible remix" still "hits hard enough to make you want to dance".

"Starting today, a new ringtone ("Remix") should automatically appear in the dropdown menu. If the new ringtone does not appear in the dropdown, go to "Menu" and click on "check for updates," Microsoft explained.

The Teams ringtone can be changed on both the desktop and web apps. The Teams mobile app settings are streamlined, so when they are changed in the desktop or web apps it will automatically change across all your endpoints, including mobile, says Microsoft.
