If you want a versatile, modular solution for securing small items like phones and keys in a variety of vehicles, choose DIYEAH 5pcs; if you need a dedicated, form-fitting shield to protect your specific dashboard from UV damage and heat, choose Generic Car Dashboard Cover.
• DIYEAH 5pcs: Built from durable PVC with an anti-slip surface designed to hold items firmly in place across many different car models.
• Generic Car Dashboard Cover: A custom-molded carpet-style mat specifically engineered for the Chevrolet Trailblazer RG (2020-2023) to block sun rays and prevent fading.
• Who it's for: The DIYEAH set is ideal for drivers who need portable grip pads for their instrument panel without worrying about exact model fitment.
• Who it's for: The Generic cover is the right choice for Trailblazer owners prioritizing long-term dashboard preservation against harsh sunlight and heat.
The DIYEAH 5-piece set stands out because it treats the dashboard as a functional workspace rather than just a surface to be covered. Crafted from PVC, these mats are built to resist wear and tear, meaning they maintain their structural integrity even after repeated use. The design focuses on providing a secure anchor point for loose items. Whether you are parking in a tight garage or driving on bumpy roads, the enhanced safety features ensure that your phone, sunglasses, or keys do not slide around or become distractions while you are behind the wheel.
This product is particularly useful for drivers who value flexibility over a perfect, one-piece fit. With dimensions of approximately 7.1 by 5.1 inches per piece, these mats offer a universal approach to interior organization. You can place them exactly where you need traction, whether near the vents, under the steering column, or in the center console area. The material is easy to clean, which is a practical necessity for any accessory that will inevitably collect dust and debris from your hands and pockets. The black finish blends seamlessly with most vehicle interiors, maintaining a sleek aesthetic while doing the heavy lifting of keeping things put.
However, this product is not a full dashboard protector. It does not wrap around the entire dash or shield the plastic from direct sunlight. If your primary goal is to stop the dashboard from drying out or cracking due to constant exposure to the sun, this is not the solution. Instead, think of this as a utility kit. It is best suited for drivers who already have a solid dashboard but struggle with items sliding off during stops or turns. If you frequently park in garages where your valuables might get bumped or shaken, these five pieces provide a reliable, non-slip foundation that adapts to your specific layout needs.

In stark contrast, the Generic Car Dashboard Cover is a specialized tool designed for a single purpose: total coverage and protection for the Chevrolet Trailblazer RG (2020-2023). This is not a universal mat you can stretch or move around; it is a precise cutout tailored to the contours of that specific vehicle's instrument panel. The primary function here is thermal regulation and UV shielding. By covering the entire surface, it helps stop the dashboard from drying out under constant sun exposure, which is a common issue for vehicles parked outdoors for extended periods. Keeping the cabin tidy is a secondary benefit, as the fabric layer prevents glare and keeps the interior looking new for longer.
The construction uses a fabric layer with a smooth touch that feels premium to the hand. Unlike some hard plastics that might scratch your dashboard or leave marks over time, this cover is designed to be gentle. It includes an anti-slip backing that holds the cover steady while driving, ensuring it stays in place without shifting. The package note clarifies that this is an aftermarket accessory, meaning it is made to fit your specific car model perfectly rather than being a generic size that requires trimming. It comes in a specific style (Style A) that accounts for HUD (Head-Up Display) integration, ensuring that critical driver information remains visible while the rest of the dash is protected.
This product is strictly for those who own a Chevrolet Trailblazer RG from the specified years. If you drive a different make or model, this item will not fit correctly. It is also not intended to be a holder for loose objects like keys or phones. While it covers the surface, it does not offer the same gripping texture for small items as the PVC mats. If your priority is preserving the resale value of your dashboard by preventing sun cracks and fading, especially if you live in a sunny climate or park outside often, this cover is the superior choice. It transforms the dashboard from a vulnerable plastic surface into a protected, fabric-covered zone that resists the elements.
• Best for Universal Fit → DIYEAH 5pcs: These mats work across various dashboard designs and car models without needing a specific vehicle year or trim.
• Best for Specific Vehicle Protection → Generic Car Dashboard Cover: Only works for the Chevrolet Trailblazer RG 2020-2023, offering a custom fit that no other product can match for that car.
• Best for Holding Small Items → DIYEAH 5pcs: The PVC material provides a high-friction surface ideal for anchoring phones, keys, and sunglasses securely.
• Best for UV and Heat Shielding → Generic Car Dashboard Cover: The fabric layer is explicitly designed to block sun rays and prevent the dashboard material from drying out or cracking.
• Best for Easy Cleaning → DIYEAH 5pcs: The smooth PVC surface wipes down quickly, whereas fabric covers may require more careful vacuuming or spot cleaning.
• Best for Interior Aesthetics → Generic Car Dashboard Cover: Offers a seamless, factory-like look that integrates with the vehicle's original design and HUD system.
• Best for Modular Placement → DIYEAH 5pcs: You can arrange the five pieces exactly where you need grip, allowing for a customized layout on any dash.
• Best for Long-Term Material Preservation → Generic Car Dashboard Cover: Focuses entirely on extending the life of the dashboard itself rather than managing loose items.
I would buy the Generic Car Dashboard Cover if I owned a Chevrolet Trailblazer RG from 2020 to 2023. The logic here is simple: protecting the actual dashboard from sun damage is a permanent investment in the vehicle's condition, whereas sliding items around is a temporary annoyance. The custom fit ensures nothing gets missed, and the fabric material feels more integrated with the car's interior than a patchwork of PVC squares. However, if I were driving a different car or simply needed a quick fix to stop my phone from sliding off the dash, I would switch to the DIYEAH 5pcs. For parking garages specifically, where visibility is low and bumps are frequent, the DIYEAH mats offer better immediate utility for securing gear, but the Generic cover offers better peace of mind for the car itself. Ultimately, the decision rests on whether you care more about the car's surface or your loose items.
It will not fit earlier versions.
No, the DIYEAH 5pcs are small PVC anti-slip pads designed to hold items in place. They do not provide the full surface coverage required to act as a sun shade or UV shield.
The product description notes that this specific style (Style A) is designed with HUD compatibility in mind, ensuring the display remains visible while the rest of the dash is covered.
The DIYEAH PVC mats are designed for easy cleaning with a wipe-down, while the fabric cover likely requires vacuuming or gentle spot cleaning to maintain its smooth texture and appearance.
