Red Hat Satellite 6 uses Content Views to create customized repositories from the repositories. To do this, you must define which repositories to use and then apply certain filters to the content. These filters include both package filters, package group filters, and errata filters. You can use Content Views to define which software versions a particular environment uses. For example, a Production environment might use a Content View containing older package versions, while a Development environment might use a Content View containing newer package versions.

A Composite Content View combines the content from several Content Views. For example, you might have separate Content Views to manage an operating system and an application individually. You can use a Composite Content View to merge the contents of both Content Views into a new repository. The repositories for the original Content Views still exist but a new repository also exists for the combined content.

You start with all content from selected repositories, then select which content to remove. Use this filter when you want to use most of a particular content repository but exclude certain packages, such as blacklisted packages. The filter uses all content in the repository except for the content you select.

If using a combination of Include and Exclude filters, publishing a Content View triggers the include filters first, then the exclude filters. In this situation, select which content to include, then which content to exclude from the inclusive subset.

In general, is it better to create relatively complex composite content views (at least, they seem to be complex to me), or to use multiple activation keys when subscribing clients to foreman? Or some combination of the two approaches?

A CV is a representation of content that belongs together, especially you cannot (easily) update parts of a CV without updating all content. So if you put two repositories in a CV, each publish will update packages from both repos. This is great if the repos belong together, like base and extras of Centos, but will make headache if you combine centos and epel, or your monitoring agent. Mostly due to the fact that the components then have different update intervals. So my personal guidance is usually "use one CV per product (centos) which can span multiple repos (base, updates, extras).

As having just an OS is kinda useless, you then usually end up doing composite content views (CCV) that combine the OS with an application, e.g. you take the centos CV plus foreman CV. As those products have completely different update cycles, you can update the CVs as the products update and then present this to your consumers in the CCV.

And if I need to filter the docker repository to only provide access to docker-ce-1803, while other hosts need access to docker-ce-1809, then that would be 2 more composite content views, each with an associated activation key.

Content Views is the only filter & grid plugin on the market that seamlessly integrates with a wide range of plugins. Content Views can:  display products, events of

Woocommerce (demo), The Events Calendar (demo) show & filter by custom field of

Advanced Custom Fields (demo), Meta Box, Pods integrate with page builders

Elementor, SiteOrigin, Beaver Builder, Divi, WPBakery display translated content of

WPML, Polylang show content to only allowed members of

Members, Paid Memberships Pro, MemberMouse, MemberPress

Have used this for almost 4 years now, and cannot do without it! Pro version works with Events Manager and similar products seamlessly to allow alternative presentation of contents on my websites. Support has always been very quick and responsive. Absolutely brilliant.

For the cost of the product, you are a dream.

I compared several plugins for listing my posts in different arrangements, and this plugin had the features I was looking for. The support, updating, and features are excellent. The pro version also includes helpful documentation for customizations like using views on your archive, search, and blog pages. After getting the pro version for one site, I soon got the Pro version for a second site as well.

Hugo also has support for a default content template to be used in the event that a specific content view template has not been provided for that type. Content views can also be defined in the _default directory and will work the same as list and single templates who eventually trickle down to the _default directory as a matter of the lookup order.

In this example, .Render is passed into the template to call the render function. .Render is a special function that instructs content to render itself with the view template provided as the first argument. In this case, the template is going to render the summary.html view that follows:

To add some value to my answer, I would assume your understanding of setContentView is a bit wrong. setContentView is how you tell android which layout file to associate with this activity (as per your example). that's how layouts with different components are done, it's one single file with multiple or different views inside one file (or being referenced from this file, with methods such as include in xml).

First create a product and repository in the library environment and populate the repository with content (by syncing it or uploading content).A Content Host can now register directly to library and be attached to the content therein. Updates will be available as soon as new content is synced or uploaded.

Adding a repository to a Content View means whenever a Content View is published, all of the content contained within the repository at that time is included in the Content View.If the repository is synced after publishing the Content View, the Content View will contain the state of the repository prior to syncing.A new version of the Content View must be published in order for the new version to get the contents of the newly synced repository.

Adding a version of a Content View to a Composite Content View means whenever the Composite Content View is published, all of the content contained within the specific version of that Content View is contained in the Composite Content View.If the Content Views contained within the Composite Content View are updated (i.e. a new version is published) or if their content is updated after publishing the Composite Content View, the Composite Content View will only contain the versions of the Content View(s) prior to syncing.A new version of the Composite Content View must be published in order for it to get the updated Content Views.

If only using Content Views as snapshots, Filters are unnecessary. If the desire is to filter what content make it into the view, such as blacklisting a package by name or version, or blacklisting errata by date or type, Filters can help accomplish these tasks.

Publishing a Content View produces a new version of the content view that is subsequently promoted to the Library lifecycle environment. This newly published version of the content view is now available to any content host registered to Library.

We can view the content life cycle in Satellite through this lens. Update the content, publish the content, validate the content, promote the content to the next life-cycle environment, rinse and repeat...

We call this code as many times as necessary to build the hosts that will represent each of our content views or composite content views that are used in an endstate system. These will be our test machines.

We are developing a new Hub site and i wanted to see how our content would appear in the new Hub content-views version being released May 25. Unfortunately, our data layers are not displaying as expected.

It seems like the new Hub content page is 'confused' as to whether the item is a Map or a feature layer and thus showing elements of both a map and feature layer - but not completely either one - if that make sense. See the screen cap below.....Any thoughts about what's going on?

In my testing I've noticed there are two new content previews - one is dataset (feature layer) and one is map (feature service). The differences seen in the URL. The content preview you're looking at is the map and it's looking for a thumbnail from ArcGIS Online. Example, our Child Development Centers: =content-views. The other content preview is the dataset which will show the map extent and attribute preview. Again, example Child Development Centers: ::child-development-centers/about?uiVersion=content-views. The route to get to these depend on whether uses are searching, or simply clicking on a data card within a gallery or similar. Using the content previews, does the map preview show if you look through the dataset feature layer?

Hey @Alex-Santos .... that's a nice catch about the two different URLs or views; i had not noticed that before. You are correct that when clicking on the layer from the Search results, the url defaults to 'maps'. The problem there is that we have not published the map service to AGOL. we've only published the individual layers from the map service. be457b7860
