DIVISION 2 POLICIES
Managers have the final determination on batting order and field positions for players.
New players must sign up to play in the division in which they were evaluated for their initial season; returning players may sign up at the level that they are presently playing, or one level higher or lower.
Division 2 policy requires players to play 70% of regular season games, excluding injury or a family emergency. Signing up as a roster player requires you to comply with this Recreation Division 2 policy.
Players asking to be considered for a 4 game or season ending substitute must complete and submit their registration form for the season prior to the announced deadline. Those not registered by the deadline will be eligible for game day substitute player status only. Exceptions to this rule are newly evaluated players.\
Players signing up to play in the upcoming season can only sign up for one Recreation Division during the season. Changes to any Division 2 season signup form may be made up to and until the Division 2 season signup deadline. Once the signup deadline has passed, the Division 2 committed player cannot decide to play for another Division. The Recreation Department and Division 2 Board have the right to take appropriate action including current year and future year eligibility.
When the Recreation Department undertakes programs and activities, we make certain assumptions. They are nothing more than common sense. We assume that, since you have applied to participate, you want to play softball. We assume that you, as an adult, want to be seen in a very positive light. We assume you will address issues as reasonable adults, utilizing the mechanisms that are in place for resolution of such issues. The guiding principle should be, is and always will be THE GOLDEN RULE – “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
Having listed those assumptions, the following are intended to provide clarification for all participants:
o The use of obscenity, profanity or vulgarity in any conversations involving participants will not be tolerated.
o It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain a safe, pleasant and comfortable playing atmosphere.
o Every individual who participates in this program has the right to be treated with respect. No one should be disparaged or criticized in front of his/her teammates and spectators. Bring your complaints and concerns to your manager or a Division Board representative.
o Any player ejected from a game will be subject to Rule 3L of the Recreation Dept Softball Policies and Procedures.
