Answer: GSS provides a range of academic support for students with diverse learning needs. We offer differentiated instruction in the classroom to cater to different learning styles and abilities. One key initiative is the GROW program (Get Ready to Own and Want to Progress), which helps students develop essential Executive Functioning Skills (EFS). It supports students who may struggle with working memory, conceptual understanding, or completing assignments by cultivating routines for self-directed learning. GROW complements our curriculum and ensures that students who face challenges during lessons receive targeted support to help them progress.
Question: How does GSS foster character development and leadership skills?
Answer: GSS fosters character development and leadership through our core values of Respect, Integrity, Diligence, Grit, and Empathy (RIDGE). Students engage in leadership roles through the Student Council, Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), and Values in Action (VIA) programs, which promote responsibility and teamwork.
Question: How are students selected for admission to GSS after the PSLE?
Answer: Students are selected for admission to GSS based on their PSLE results through the Ministry of Education’s Secondary 1 Posting Exercise. In addition to this, we also accept students through the Direct School Admission for Secondary Schools (DSA-Sec) process, where students can apply based on their talents in specific areas.
