I learned that I can never run after the clouds because they move with the speed of the wind. Clouds also bring rain wherever they go. The bigger the cloud is, the more rain it brings to a bigger area that it covers.
I joined Yumi's experiment in experiencing how to be a mommy bat for a few minutes. It was frustrating when I was not able to find my pup's scent but it was fun too!
I learned how the air absorbs the water that is heated by the sun. I also learned about evaporation and condensation. When it is hot, water evaporates into air; when it is cold, the air condenses to droplets of water.
I learned about the rain and how it can sometimes look like sulfur or blood when little particles mix up with it. Some insects can also look like clouds and rain in the sky when they migrate in swarms.
When we had a stop over in Baguio before going to our destination camp, I found this caterpillar that was excellently camouflaging on the stem of a flower. I thought that that was a good find! Can you spot it?
I learned how volcanoes erupt starting with smoke that comes out of the crater, then the shaking of the ground, then the eruption. I learned that the lava comes out of the crater of the volcano.
Despite being terrifying, I still find volcanoes very beautiful and I would like to see one when it is calm. It is a very powerful creation that no human technology could go against it.
I learned about one volcanic eruption in the island of Sicily in Catania which destroyed many houses and castles and moved many people out of their homes. I also learned about some brave men who thought of a way to divert the flow of the lava from the volcano to prevent more damages to Catania. I also realized that God gives us grace so that we are able to do the right thing.
I learned that steam can really be powerful in creating explosions and even moving a locomotive train.
Here is my illustration of a locomotive train.
I learned that our eyes can be wrong sometimes because they can give us illusions just like how we see how small the sun and the stars are from where we are while we see how big the earth is even when the sun and the stars are actually much bigger than the earth.
