I learned about prepositions and how they are used in a sentence. Here I illustrated what I know these prepositions meant.
We read Genesis 42:1-17 and I learned that men fear to tell the truth because we are afraid to face the consequences of our sins or mistakes. I also learned that God used to give dreams that show the future to reveal Himself to His people and He used Joseph to point His people to the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. Today, we don't need those dreams and types of Christ anymore because the Bible already tells us about Jesus.
We read Joshua 7:1-12 and I learned about the time when the Israelites were defeated by a few men from Ai. The people of Israel grieved and mourned and Joshua was beginning to ask God why He had allowed them to be defeated. Then God revealed to Joshua that one of them stole from the things that were to be devoted to God.
We read Genesis 43:16-34 and this is what I remembered about the time when Joseph's brothers returned with his brother Benjamin.
I learned about Cleopatra, the Egyptian princess who was beautiful but also cruel and violent. I also saw how Julius still cared for his son-in-law, Pompey, even when Pompey betrayed him. Julius felt really sad when he found out that Pompey was killed by Cleopatra. I also thought that Julius was foolish for falling in love with Cleopatra.
We read the poem "Us Two" by A.A. Milne. My favorite part of the poem was the last part when it says how it is better to be two because it is more fun than being alone.
Learning about the life of Julius Caesar from the beginning to the end, I would say that despite his sins and his hunger for power, he was still a hero of Rome because he was brave, he did not abuse his power and he was a good leader who cared for his people. I also found it sad that Caesar was killed by his own friend, Brutus.
We read a short story about Isaac Newton and this is what I remembered from the story.
We read about the wise men of Gotham and this is what I remembered from the second half of the story. They were wise in thinking of a way to save themselves by acting like fools.
