About the team:
MITR is a community of faculty and student members committed to providing personalized peer counseling and support to address individual student needs. With the motto "No one in the campus should be unattended in their emotional distress," MITR is dedicated to offering assistance for academic stress, personal struggles, and everything in between. MITR members are equipped with essential counselling skills and empathy, serving as accessible resources across departments and hostels to ensure support is readily available to all students. MITR conducts Barefoot counseling training for new members in partnership with the Wellness Centre and organizes surveys and events based on specific student needs. MITR strives to cultivate a nurturing environment where students feel supported in navigating emotional challenges.
My Contributions:
Providing direct emotional support to distressed students, addressing their academic, personal, and emotional challenges with empathy and confidentiality.
Organized Barefoot counselling training sessions with the Wellness Centre to equip new MITR members with essential counselling skills and empathy.
Planned and coordinated events such as workshops and seminars focused on mental health and well-being.
Conducted awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of mental health and emotional well-being within the campus community.
Organized surveys to understand student needs and adjust MITR's initiatives accordingly, ensuring our support services aligned closely with the evolving challenges students faced.

About the team:
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) hosts Research Scholars Day (RSD) annually, a dynamic event that serves as a dynamic platform for scholars, academicians, and industrial professionals nationwide. Unfortunately, the RSD 2020 had to be cancelled at the last moment due to the outbreak of COVID-19. However, the spirit remained undeterred as RSD 2021 transitioned seamlessly into a fully online format. The festival is a melting pot of knowledge and ideas, featuring enlightening lectures by distinguished speakers, interactive workshops, engaging expositions showcasing innovative startups and renowned research labs, and a diverse array of competitions designed to ignite curiosity and inspiration among researchers.
My Contributions:
As a core, Headed the Media and Design vertical for RSD, overseeing all media and design aspects of the event, ensuring seamless coordination, planning and execution.
Designed eye-catching posters, flyers, and banners to promote RSD across various platforms.
Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, and event management to align media and design strategies with overall event objectives and timelines.
Managed and updated the RSD website to reflect current event information, speaker profiles, workshop details, and competition guidelines, ensuring a user-friendly and informative online experience.
Developed a social media strategy to enhance the event's online presence and engage with the target audience. Created content calendars, write compelling captions, and produce visually appealing posts to share updates, announcements, and highlights leading up to and during RSD.
Drafted comprehensive content for journalists, providing essential details about RSD, including event details, speaker profiles, and notable achievements and innovations.

About the team:
The Disaster Management Committee (DMC) organizes regular awareness campaigns to promote safety on campus. They conduct training sessions, including first-aid, emergency medical care, self-defense, and fire-safety drills. The team consists of certified coordinators in emergency medical care.
My Contributions:
As the super coordinator, I oversee the seamless execution of tasks by assigning responsibilities to coordinators and ensuring timely completion.
Participating actively in organizing and executing awareness campaigns.
Assisting in conducting training sessions on various safety topics such as first-aid, emergency medical care, self-defense, and fire safety drills.
Contributing ideas for improving the effectiveness of awareness campaigns and training sessions.
I volunteered at the Alertathon Marathon hosted by Alert NGO, managing an Aid Station. My duties included providing essential hydration and nutrition to participants, and cheering on tired runners.
Basic Life Support Course: Completed the Basic Life Support course as part of the PEER programme by ALERT Simulation Lab (ALERT NGO). PEER, or Personal Empowerment in Emergency Response, equips individuals with vital life-saving skills, blending international standards with real-life Indian scenarios.

The Indian Science Congress is an annual event organized by the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA). The 104th Indian Science Congress was held in 2017, hosted by the Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. These congresses serve as platforms for scientists, researchers, policymakers, and academicians from India and worldwide to collaborate, share their research findings, discuss scientific advancements, and collaborate on various scientific issues and challenges. They cover various disciplines, including physical, chemical, mathematical, biological, and social sciences. Eminent scientists, Nobel laureates and experts delivered keynote lectures. The Indian Science Congress is crucial in fostering scientific temperament and promoting scientific research and innovation in India.
My Contributions:
Assisted session chairs and speakers by ensuring that presentation equipment is functioning properly, managing timekeeping, and assisting with any technical issues that arise.
