Chrome Dimmer is a browser extension that adds a dim overlay to web pages with adjustable brightness and color inversion options. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Chrome Dimmer does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Your brightness preference (a number between 10-100)
Your enable/disable toggle state (on/off)
Your color inversion preference (on/off)
This data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API, which may sync your preferences across your Chrome browsers if you are signed into Chrome. This is a standard Chrome feature and no data is sent to any external servers.
The extension requires the following permissions:
storage: To save your brightness and inversion preferences locally
activeTab: To apply the dimming effect to the current tab
scripting: To inject the dimming overlay into web pages
tabs: To apply settings across all open tabs
host_permissions (): To apply the dimming effect on any website you visit
Chrome Dimmer does not use any third-party services, analytics, or tracking.
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data.
