About me

I am a Professor of Banking & Finance at the University of St Andrews Business School (UK) and a member of the Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance

My research sits at the intersection of financial intermediation and corporate finance, with a focus on how legal, institutional, and regulatory changes shape bank behaviour. Specifically, I examine how banks set payout policy in response to such changes, how taxes and levies influence bank conduct and feed through to the real economy, and how liquidity regulation affects bank decision-making.

My work has been published in numerous journals including the British Journal of Management, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Financial Stability, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.
