CUTCUT
Barangay Cutud is one of the barangays of Angeles City, Pampanga. The name "Cutud" comes from the Kapampangan word kutud, meaning "a boundary" or "end," since the area was once considered a boundary settlement. It was originally a rural community, with residents mostly engaged in farming and fishing along the nearby Abacan River.
Over time, with the growth of Angeles City, Cutud developed into a more urbanized barangay. It is now best known for the San Pedro Cutud Lenten Rites, where every Good Friday, Catholic devotees reenact the Passion of Christ through self-flagellation and actual crucifixion, drawing both local and international attention.
