STRENGTHENING CHILD PROTECTION: ANGELES CITY BCPC MEMBERS TRAINED ON RIGHTS, LAWS, AND GOVERNANCE
To advance the protection and welfare of children, the DILG Angeles City, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), facilitated a virtual training on May 22, 2025, for members of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC).
The session covered topics including the organization and duties of BCPC members in enforcing child protection laws; an overview of child rights and legal frameworks; proper identification, reporting, and referral of child abuse cases; juvenile justice welfare; RA 11930; and the development of BCPC Annual Work and Financial Plans, along with the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays and the BCPC Functionality Assessment for effective local governance.
Through this initiative, BCPC members of Angeles City gained enhanced knowledge and skills, empowering them to create safer, child-friendly communities and to uphold the full protection of children's rights at the grassroots level.
