The ratings of refineries are highly dependent on several factors such as compliance standards, their modus operandi, risk assessment, customer service and training and development of employees etc. can influence the performance of a refinery.
However, there are a few key differentiators which can help us decide whether the refinery is worthwhile or not:
Compliance
Production Capacity
Customer support
Technology
Easy Availability
Trustability
These variables, as mentioned earlier, are intangible and depend entirely on the legacy the firm has established over the years. Moreover, there are quite a few well-recognised parameters to assess the worth of a refinery and DGD is one of those. If any refinery is able to get certification from such institutions, it is clear indication that their operation and work standards are nationally and internationally accepted.
THE DUBAI GOOD DELIVERY (DGD) STANDARD IN DUBAI
In 2005, the DMCC established the Dubai Good Delivery (DGD), which is considered the international benchmark for technical specification and quality for gold and silver production.
The certification also includes responsible sourcing of gold under the DMCC Rules for Risk-Based Due Diligence for Gold and Precious Metals for gold refineries.
To learn more about the world's DGD-certified refineries, see a few of the refineries included in the UAE and abroad, including Japan, Switzerland, and Turkey. Refineries that have been de-listed for whatever reason are also noted.
Here is a list of the UAE's leading gold refinery operations. Everything included in this list is not an evaluation of the order in which these firms rank; rather, it gives an overview of each company's functioning and why they are among the finest in the UAE.

OTHER REFINERIES ARE OUTSIDE THE UAE:
If you're searching for a broader selection of authorized refineries, you may have to go outside the UAE.
However, no other Middle Eastern refineries ever hold either DGD certification or a position on the London Bullion Market Association's similarly renowned Good Delivery list (LBMA).
Beyond the Middle East, the next closest alternative is Turkey, which is home to the Istanbul Gold Refinery and the Nadir Metal Refinery, which are both accredited by the DGD and LBMA. DGD accreditation has been awarded to a third Turkish refiner, Ahltaci.
In general, using DGD and LBMA-accredited refineries is the best choice, as they will provide you with peace of mind that the product is of excellent quality. In addition to that, these lists are updated frequently and the DGD and LBMA are renewed every year.
