Gateway Technical College’s student I.T. club dig.IT is holding another one of its popular public computer repair/tune-up clinics. Many members of the community have benefited from participating in past clinics. Computers will be accepted for refresh or repair on a first come, first served basis until capacity is reached. Device owners will be called/texted when their device is ready for pickup.
Pre-registration is greatly appreciated.
Note: If you are bringing in a mobile device, make sure you bring the power cord
Student volunteers may provide the following services:
Update PC operating systems
Check for viruses & malware
Diagnose Internet access issues
Optimize computer function
Perform Windows upgrades, if computer hardware is compatible
iOS updates on iPhone & iPad
Install hardware when supplied by owner
Provide hardware consultations
Sorry, we are unable to upgrade macOS at this time.
The Community PC Clinic is a fundraiser for the student I.T. club. Money raised helps to pay for students to attend information technology events and compete at national information technology collegiate conference. It is suggested that a minimum $20 donation be made for every device brought in for repair/tune-up.
These events allow the students to give back to the community while honing the skills they will use in their careers.
