The Dinner Party 1979
Judy Chicago was born and raised in Chicago, IL, she has worked as an artist, author, feminist, educator, and intellectual who's career has spanned more than 5 decades. Her work has been on display in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. She used her voice as a feminist to create art and inspire young women, she taught feminism art in a very unique program at CSU Fresno. In the 80's she did a series tiltled the Birth Project where she did a series of quilts and needle point showing the process of the women's experieces during pregnacy and labor. Another one of her influential pieces was The Dinner Party; there are several different elements in the piece. In her work she uses potographs, digital images, she host virtual gallery openings and does "tours" that gallery visiters can watch. She has partnerd with Dior in early 2020 and is making her way into the fashion world; at the age of 81 she shows no signs of slowing down.
