Welcome to Digital Access Essentials, a free informational course offered in partnership with Santa Fe Community College and Accessible New Mexico. This class is offered May 21 - June 25, 2025. You can access the class recordings and additional notes by following the "Week" Tabs at the top of this website page.

This website is a resource site for students enrolled in the course. If students wish to earn a badge for their participation in this course please contact Monique Anair at monique.anair1@sfcc.edu so that you can be officially enrolled.

The Digital Access Essentials Digital Badge

After the conclusion of this course on July 26, 2025 enrolled students can complete a ten (10) question quiz and earn a digital badge that they can download from Credly.com. Please take the Quiz to earn your badge: Link to Quiz

Zoom provides several built-in accessibility features to support inclusive virtual meetings: 

Live Captions & Transcripts: Automated captions and post-meeting transcripts assist participants who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have other disabilities. 

Screen Reader Support: Compatible with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver, enabling low-vision users, those who are blind, and others with disabilities to navigate Zoom effectively. 

Keyboard Accessibility: All Zoom functions are operable via keyboard shortcuts, aiding users with mobility disabilities. 

Custom Display Settings: Adjust font sizes for chat and captions, and enable dark mode to reduce eye strain.
