Color
Analytics company KISSmetrics has created several helpful infographics on the science of how colors affect our purchases, based on their extensive research on the subject. These guides can help designers steer conversations away form personal preferences to brand appropriateness.
Color and Emotion
Color and Gender
These KISSmetrics charts are most valuable if you have a brand that is targeted to one sex. Green and blue are the safe cross-over colors.
Color and Context
This chart is from an experiment run by Research firm Hubspot. They hypothesized that different brand-driven button colors would increase click rates. In fact, they found that red wins every time with Orange running a close second. This tells us that color choice needs to be contextual as well as brand-driven.
