Design Challenge
The DCX Team are hosting UX and HCI students from Indiana University, Purdue University, and Lisbon University as part of a study abroad program from the 20th to the 30th of May in Newcastle.
One of the goals of the program is to include the students in some of the projects taking place across different Universities in design sprint type activities. If you'd like to receive some design help, a little UX push on a project that you're working on, or just an opportunity to mentor/collaborate with some students, please fill out this form!
This is flexible, but here is what we're hoping you, as a project sponsor, could provide:
You are an PhD student, researcher or academic based in the North East of England
A real project with a digital civics angle local to Newcastle that you're working on that would benefit from some UX and/or HCI design work.
Availability on May 20th to help orient the students working with you to the project and potential other stakeholders.
The students (in groups of up to 5) will be working on that project for approximately 4 hours a day on May 21-24 and 28-29. You are welcome to be somewhat or fully available at that time! They're capable enough to work on their own, but in the past we have also had project sponsors who wanted to work full-time with the students, and those have turned out well too.
Attend the final presentations and showcase event on May 30th.
We will also be hosting a CHI Howay event on May 21st. If you have an accepted or rejected CHI paper or any emerging work that you would like to present please fill in this form: https://forms.office.com/e/qHiWZRUtqY
