Chapter 11: Sacrifice

Back in the city on the continent of Asioo on Aqualia, the Digidestined's Digimon continued to fight against overwhelming odds. MegaGargomon unleashed a "Mega Barrage!" attack destroying about 20 Bakemon all at once, before being knocked to the ground by a Sonic Destroyer from a Parrotmon. "We could really use our own army right about now!" MegaGargomon said, picking himself up off the ground.

During KnightMermaidmon's battle with Lillithmon, KnightMermaidmon had gained the upper hand. She was using attacks she hadn't previously revealed. "Ariel's Acid Whirlpool!" This attack sent out a water tornado at the opponent and trapped them in a spinning typhoon of acid water. Lillithmon screamed as the acid burned her skin. KnightMermaidmon then flew into her own whirlpool and used the chance to slice Lillithmon a few times with her sword. The acid whirlpool subsided and Lillithmon tried to get up. Before she could, KnightMermaidmon was right on top of her. "Shield Of Atlantis!" She attacked. Lillithmon got hit with a short range powerful energy blast that emanated from KnightMermaidmon's shield. Lillithmon tried to touch KnightMermaidmon to make her rot, but KnightMermaidmon quickly got off of her to dodge. Lillithmon tried to get up quickly so that she could parry any further attacks, but before she could, KnightMermaidmon was on her again. "Lightning Sword!" She sent bolts of lightning out of the tip of her sword. Lillithmon screamed in pain as the electricity surged throughout her body. Zai, who was standing nearby, was getting increasingly anxious. She called out "Syn! No!"

Syn the Lillithmon was beaten and battered. She panted out of breath. "I have nothing against you, Syn. I just have to avenge Posi." KnightMermaidmon said. Zai ran over to her battered, bruised, and fried Digimon. Lillithmon almost collapsed to the ground, but Zai caught her and helped her stand. Syn wrapped her arm around Zai's shoulder as Zai supported her. Syn continued to breathe heavily. "Syn. Syn, listen to me. You're outmatched. You have to get out of here or you could die." Zai cautioned. "I…I'm having…..so much fun though." Syn said weakly. "Listen to your partner, Syn. You're my Digimon and I care about you. You need to stop." Zai cautioned again. KnightMermaidmon looked at the vampiric looking woman holding up Lillithmon and scoffed before flying off. Lillithmon glew in a bright light. She shrank back down to BlackGatomon. "Zaaaaaiiii." Syn whined. "I have owies all over! Kiss them and make them feel better!" She said. Zai picked up the black cat Digimon and held her in her arms. She smiled. She gave the little cat Digimon a kiss on the head. "I'll have to give you the rest later. We're in the middle of a battle zone right now." Zai said. "That KnightMermaidmon is a meanie! Ooh! Meanie sounds like beanie which sounds like weenie! Now, I'm hungry!" Syn said. She was back to her bubbly childlike self.

Zai looked around at the fighting. "Gennai must not know that we need the army we've spent the last 3 weeks building. This battle is a week early after all." She said out loud.

KnightMermaidmon approached Ophanimon Falldown Mode. "Master. I've dealt with one of our enemies." KnightMermaidmon said. "Have you, now? Well, go kill Anastasia Poseidon." Ophanimon FM said. KnightMermaidmon didn't hesitate. She took off to the beach. Ophanimon Falldown Mode sighed. "She didn't let me finish. I didn't mean right away. I was going to tell her to stand by until Anastasia's battle with AncientMermaidmon (and Kinandon) brings everything to ruin." Ophanimon FM said. Ophanimon Falldown Mode turned her gaze back to Gallantmon and Ophanimon, who were busy frantically fighting off a horde of NeoDevimon.

Meanwhile….

Omnimon was continuing to go toe to toe with AncientMermaimon. AncientMermaidmon formed a bunch of crystallized solid shards of water and sent them to Omnimon. Omnimon deflected as many shards as he could with his Grey Sword but got hit with a bunch of them as well. He couldn't deflect them all.

100 yards off the coast, Jessica was holding Kinandon's trident. The prongs of his trident were mere inches above her throat. Jessica knew if her strength failed, the trident would run her through and she'd be done for. "Help me!" Jessica called out. Suddenly, a large green shark appeared and attacked Kinandon! It had Kinandon's arm in its mouth and was carrying him off. Jessica used the opportunity to get back up. The ice previously shielding her abdomen fell off. Jessica grabbed her trident and looked over into the shark's direction. "That's good. Now bite his arm off!" She was commanding the shark and it was obeying. Before the shark had an opportunity. Kinandon said "I don't think so!" He caused a big ice shard to materialize out of the palm of his hand. When he had done this, it impaled the shark and the ice shard came out of the top of its head, having gone through the roof of its mouth. The shark recoiled in pain and fell to the ocean floor. Jessica looked at the shark sympathetically. She had a love for all aquatic life, even dangerous predators like sharks, which had independently evolved on Aqualia as they did on Earth. Kinandon taunted "Aww, what's wrong? Did I hurt your little pet?"

Kinandon then thrust his hand over in Jessica's direction. "You're not the only god who can command marine life! Jellyfish, attack!" Soon, a whole school of Jellyfish swarmed in Jessica's direction. She put her hand forward and caused a barrage of ice shards to come out of her hand and penetrate each one of them. "Haha! Too easy!" Jessica said. Then her eyes widened. When the Jellyfish floated down, she realized that Kinandon was not floating where he was when he commanded the jellyfish attack. The attack was a diversion! Kinandon teleported behind Jessica and slashed her back with his trident. 3 long marks went across Jessica's back and blood flowed into the water. Most of Jessica's back was exposed except for a couple of inches which connected to the dark green breast plate she was wearing. Jessica shouted in pain. She turned around and shot a barrage of ice shards at Kinandon. Kinandon deflected all of them with his trident by spinning it around like a baton. "Anastasia, you should be stronger than this. I can't help but get the feeling you're holding back." Kinandon said. "Of course, I'm holding back! You said yourself that a battle between our ancestors devastated this planet. I know you hate ME, but surely you don't want to destroy Aqualia, do you?" Jessica said.

Kinandon scowled. "No, I don't want that. But, if I'm careful, I may be able to kill you without doing much damage to the planet." Kinandon said. As Kinandon spoke, the ocean floor began quaking. He raised his arm up into the air and a large burst of water pushed Jessica up out of the ocean water and high into the sky. He then teleported to where she was and slapped her down with his mermaid tail. Jessica slammed into a big rock sticking up out of the ocean water. She slammed into it, back first, and when she hit it, it caused several large cracks to appear in the rock. Jessica shouted in pain and she coughed up a little blood. Kinandon teleported over to the in-the-middle-of-the-ocean rock Jessica had slammed into. He stuck his trident in between two rocks that were off to the side. He slowly floated over to Jessica and held her chin in between his index finger and thumb. "I just now decided that I don't want you to leave this world through cold steel. I want to do this barehanded." He said. He then began pummeling Jessica with punches to the face. Jessica reached out and grabbed Kinandon's face. She then took off like Superman, again breaking the sound barrier. She flew down into the water below, still grasping Kinandon's head. She scraped him across an entire coral reef bed before flying up out of the ocean and hurling Kinandon back in the direction of the mainland.

Jessica then teleported behind Kinandon and slapped up vertically with her mermaid tail. As Kinandon was headed up into the air, Jessica teleported again above him to slap him back down with her mermaid tail. Kinandon landed in between AncientMermaidmon and Omnimon who were fighting. Jessica put her hands in front of her and started forming a ball of water that she had created out of nothing. "Hydrooooogenesis….STREAM!!!!!" She cried out before unleashing a big high pressured stream of water that hit Kinandon. The water hit him so hard that it actually caused a crater in the ground around him. Omnimon looked over to Jessica, who was floating back down to the ground. "Hydrogenesis Stream?" He asked. "Hey, don't judge me. You Digimon call out your attack names all the time." Jessica said.

Suddenly, KnightMermaidmon appeared and attacked Jessica. She slashed at her with her sword. "Knightmermaidmon!? What are you doing?" Jessica asked, dodging the attack. "It's Ophanimon's wishes that I cut you down." KnightMermaidmon explained.

"KnightMermaidmon, I told you I'd be your friend." Jessica said. "And I told you that I didn't believe you. Did you think I lived with you and your husband these past 3 weeks because I had joined your side? No. I merely knew I was outmatched. I knew that if I tried to escape again, I'd just get beat down like the last time. You're not my friend. You'd never be my friend. Not after what I did to you. I know you have nothing but contempt for me." KnightMermaidmon explained.

"KnightMermaidmon, please! I forgive you! I just want you to be able to start over! When I heard your story, my heart ached for you. I want you to know that you don't have to be alone anymore!" Jessica said.

"I won't fall for your tricks! This planet's inhabitants have treated me like garbage for over 10 years! I finally had one good thing happen to me, ONE GOOD THING, AND THEY TOOK EVEN THAT AWAY FROM ME!" KnightMermaidmon exclaimed.

"But there are people on this planet who have never even met you! There are babies who have recently been born who know nothing of bigotry! Would you destroy the innocent along with the guilty? Why have you abandoned love?" Jessica argued.

KnightMermaidmon gasped. She remembered Posi's dying words to her; "Kappamon. Please…..be strong. Whatever….you do…..don't….abandon…...love."

As they were arguing, AncientMermaidmon began writhing in pain again. She had calmed down for a few moments, but started up again. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS!" AncientMermaidmon then lunged in KnightMermaidmon's direction. She was about to slash KnightMermaidmon when Jessica got in the way of the attack and blocked it with her own trident. KnightMermaidmon was stunned. "You…..you protected me!?" She said in amazement. "This is the second time. How many times is it going to take to convince you that I'm your friend?" Jessica said.

AncientMermaidmon began hacking and slashing again, with Jessica blocking each attack with her own trident. Omnimon flew over and tried to strike AncientMermaidmon, "Grey Sword!" Omnimon called out as he swung his sword. AncientMermaidmon dodged. KnightMermaidmon de-digivolved to Kappamon. AncientMermaidmon teleported behind Kappamon and tried to strike her again, but Jessica got in the way and shielded her with her own body. Deep slash wounds went down Jessica's exposed back. Blood ran out of the wounds and onto the sand below. "Jessica!" Kappamon cried out. Jessica grunted. "This is the third time." Jessica said through the pain. Kappamon embraced Jessica after she fell to her hands and….tail. "Jessica! I'm sorry! I believe you!" Kappamon said with tears in her eyes. AncientMermaidmon slashed Jessica's back with her trident a few more times, causing Jessica to cry out in pain. Omnimon flew over and swung at AncientMermaidmon to protect Jessica, but AncientMermaidmon jumped back.

Kinandon slowly regained consciousness. He got out of the hole he was in and flew up into the air. He looked down at AncientMermaidmon who was again writhing in pain. "IT HURTS! IT HURTS!" She screamed intelligibly. Kinandon flew over to AncientMermaidmon. "Ophanimon Falldown Mode said you were in pain. I believe it. Katie, I'm sorry! Please forgive me!" Kinandon pleaded.

"Kinandon!" Jessica's voice echoed. Kinandon turned to look at her. "I know you don't believe me, but Ophanimon Falldown used a ShapeChange Device to impersonate me as part of her plan. I'm not responsible for the death of your family, and I don't want to fight you." Jessica said.

"Nice try. My father confiscated and destroyed all of them." Kinandon said.

"Except for 3. Two of them belonged to my mother and father, and one of them ended up in the hands of my doppelganger." Jessica said.

Kinandon was smart. He was one of the top scientists on Aqualia. He looked down at the sand and then back at Jessica. "That's true. He did miss 3 of them." He said.

"We need to stop fighting and stop your sister from rampaging." Jessica said.

"Possibility doesn't equal probability. You two could be working together." Kinandon said.

"Just stop and think for a second. What motive would I have to kill the royal family? Certainly not to end all life like Ophanimon." Jessica argued.

"How can I know that?" Kinandon asked.

"Because…" Kappamon walked forward. She was holding the ShapeChange device in her hands. She pushed the button and transformed herself to look like Jessica. "I'm the one…who killed your family." She finished. Jessica looked over to Kappamon. "Kappamon, you fool!" She said. Jessica wondered why she didn't solely pin it on Ophanimon Falldown. Kinandon grit his teeth in rage. "So, it's true." He said. He looked over to Jessica. "Anastasia, I'm so sorry. I promise that after all this is over, you'll be fully pardoned, not that you have a crime of which to be pardoned." Kinandon said. Kinandon then bolted towards Kappamon, ready to strike her with his trident. However, Jessica parried it with her own. "Stop! Please!" Jessica pleaded. "Anastasia!? You dare protect this monster? She did both of us wrong! She killed my family! She tried to pin it on you! She incited me to attack you!" Kinandon shouted.

They then heard the sound of aircraft zooming overhead. They looked up and saw swarms of armed spacecraft emerging out of the Aqualian waters and flying upward into large bluish white portals. Kinandon jumped back and looked over to the spacecraft. He looked concerned. "I should do something. The people of Earth are not our enemies. Ophanimon and this little frog-duck-turtle is." Kinandon said. Kinandon got out his Digi-Worm phone to contact his troops. "Contact General Coral." Kinandon said. The Digi-Worm phone was unresponsive. "I said 'Contact General Coral." Kinandon repeated.

Earth…

Spaceships invaded Earth. There were thousands of them. At the Pentagon, conversations between government officials were taking place in the Command Center or War Room. There was a TV nearby showing news coverage of the invading fleet. No one really knew what to do. Some thought they should negotiate first, others thought they should unleash a preemptive strike. Suddenly, the Aqualian spacecraft began firing at buildings and people, doing some major property damage and killing some people! The city their spacecraft was flying through was New York City. The general got up from his table upon seeing this assault on the television screen that was mounted on the wall in the Command Center. He said "I guess that answers the question of whether or not they come in peace. Scramble the jets." He said. Then, TVs and computer screens all across the globe started going staticy. A woman's face appeared on all of the screens. The woman had short red hair, dark green shoulder armor, and a dark green breast plate. "I am General Coral of the planet Aqualia. We know you're harboring a murderer. Jessica wiped out the royal family of Aqualia, leaving all but Kinandon who is now our king. This broadcast is being shown on every TV, computer, and smart device across your planet. We of Aqualia are peaceful people. We don't wish to go to war with you, but we will if we have to. We will withdraw our fleet on one condition; that you hand over Anastasia Calista Poseidon, or as you may know her; Jessica Glovion."

The President of the United States, who was also in the War Room asked "Who is this Jessica Glovion? Find her."

The red haired woman on screen continued, "Anastasia, I know you're watching this. If you care about these people, turn yourself in. Because for every minute you don't, we will indiscriminately fire at humans and buildings." General Coral, as well as the entire army of Aqualia, was under the impression that Jessica was on Earth. They had no idea that she had gone to Aqualia through a wormhole earlier this morning. Even if she wanted to turn herself in, she couldn't! She wasn't there! As more time went by, Aqualian ships continued firing at people at buildings. When the ray guns out of their ship hit a person, it instantly turned them to dust. People were running away frantically trying to find some possible means of escape.

Soon, US fighter jets arrived and began shooting at the spacecraft. Their bullets and missiles did nothing to damage the Aqualian spacecraft for they were surrounded by force fields. The Aqualian spacecraft retaliated and shot some fighter jets down. The fighter jets that were hit crashed into buildings nearby and blew up, but the pilots ejected themselves from the cockpit first. They were slowly floating down with their parachutes, but before they could hit the ground, some of the Aqualian craft vaporised them! Coral smirked from inside her own craft. "I guess she doesn't care about humans after all." She said. Coral knew that with Anastasia's godlike powers that she could easily wipe out the Aqualian army. Her plan was to exploit Jessica's fondness of Earth and its people to get her to willingly surrender. Basically, it was a hostage situation. This was their plan in the event that Kinandon, with his own newly awakened godlike powers, couldn't come to fight her. General Coral wondered what was holding up her king.

Wormholes opened up and a plethora of Digimon came through the portals as well. They also rampaged throughout the city. In a building nearby, a blonde haired woman in a typical office worker outfit looked out the window with a concern look on her face. She was standing in a office room with lots of cubicles. "Digimon? In our world? Again? This is not good." She said. A male-coworker of hers opened the door and looked into the room. "Emily! There you are! What do you think you're doing? The building is being evacuated!" The male office worker said. The blonde woman turned around and looked at one of the computer screens with a sad expression on her face. "Yeah. I know. I'm coming." She said. Suddenly, one of the computer screens began glowing. The blonde female officer worker heard beeping going off in her pocket. She took out a brown Digivice. "Could it be?" Emily said looking at the digivice. She looked back over to the computer screen and a brown rabbitlike Digimon came out. "Lopmon!?" That was what the rabbit Digimon was called. Lopmon turned and looked at the blonde woman. "Emily! I've missed you!" Lopmon said. Emily picked up the small Digimon and embraced her. "I've missed you too! But there's no time to waste! We need to fight the Digimon invading this city!" Emily said.

Emily was a human Digidestined who joined the group much later in their first adventures back in 2006. She was once known as The Digimon Ruler who oppressed and controlled Digimon through the use of the "Red Marks". Emily had been driven insane by the overwhelming power of the Red Stones which enabled her to put Red Marks on Digimon to control them. After her partner Lopmon was killed in battle by the NeoDevimon she tried to control, her sanity returned to her. Filled with remorse, she eventually joined the Digidestined to defeat the Royal Knights. And although it had been about 15 years since then, Emily never really forgave herself.

Aqualia…

Back on Aqualia, Evander and Jessica looked concerned. "You mean to tell me that Earth is being invaded right this second?" Evander asked. "That's right. And there's no way for me to contact them." Kinandon replied. "We've got to get back to Earth right away!" Jessica said. Jessica took out her Digi-Worm phone. "We can use mine." She said. She tried to open a wormhole, but it was no good. They then heard laughter from above. "What's wrong? Forget to pay for more minutes?" The voice taunted. It was Ophanimon Falldown Mode. She descended. "Why can't we use our Digi-Worm phones?" Kinandon asked. "Maybe you should ask them." Ophanimon Falldown Mode said. They then saw a bunch of tiny looking insect-like creatures crawling out of the Digi-Worm phone. They looked like hundreds of fleas. Jessica dropped the Digi-Worm phone she was holding out of a startle reflex. "Bugs!?" Jessica exclaimed. Ophanimon FM smirked, her bottom half of her face still visible from where Evander's MegaGargomon had shattered her mask. "More like computer viruses turned sentient. They're kind of like Digimon, but they're not." Ophanimon FM explained.

Kinandon explained "I ordered General Coral not to wage full scale war against Earth on the condition that the people of Earth turn Anastasia (or Jessica) over. Provided that you were still there, I was betting that you cared enough about the place you made your home that you'd comply. I never expected you to come here today and be unable to return." Jessica looked worried. Kappamon still looked like Jessica, having used the ShapeChange device earlier. She took a deep breath. "If I can find a Digi-Worm phone, I will hand myself over to the army." Kappamon said.

The whole time they were conversing, Omnimon was in the background fighting against AncientMermaidmon.

Jessica turned to Kappamon with an anxious expression on her face. "Kappamon, no! You'll be killed!" Jessica explained. "Would they though? I mean, it doesn't make much sense. Why would normal Aqualians attempt to kill a being with the power of a goddess?" Evander asked. Kinandon looked down at the sand. "Like I said….my orders were for them to exploit her feelings." Kinandon said.

Back on Earth, at Jessica's childhood home, Aqualian soldiers came to the door. Victoria answered the door. She gasped, recognizing the uniforms. "Aqualian Soldiers!?" She exclaimed. One of the soldiers took out a little device that sort of resembled a taser and pushed a button. Victoria was immediately sealed in a cage made of some kind of bluish white colored energy. The cage had a stream of energy connected to the taser-like device, and the soldier was able to lift Victoria in the cage with ease. They turned around and walked out the front door. "What do you want!? Have you done anything to my daughter!?" Victoria asked. She knew this had to be connected to Jessica and that whole situation. The soldier carrying her responded "Your daughter is fine….for now."

Back on Aqualia, Omnimon was still going at it with AncientMermaidmon. Jessica asked "Kinandon, in what way will they exploit my feelings?" Kinandon was silent for a moment, then said "They're going to take your mother hostage. They know you won't attempt to use your Poseidonic powers if they can kill her with the flick of the wrist." Jessica gasped. "Mom! No!" Kappamon dove into the Aqualian ocean waters. She was able to swim much faster in Jessica's form than as a scaly, froglike, turtlelike, platypus like Digimon. She swam across a merman using a Digi-Worm phone for interplanetary communication. The Merman was talking to a woman he was in a long distance relationship with on Devillis. "Sure, I'll come to Devillis soon. ….No, I don't think I'll dry out there. ……Ok, then I'll get you some artificial gills and you can come here. Ok…I love you too." He said. Kappamon swam up and yanked the Digi-Worm phone out of the man's hand. "Hey!" He yelled. Kappamon quickly swam back to shore. She transformed her mermaid tail back into human legs and walked over to Jessica. Jessica looked at her doppelganger as she held up the Digi-Worm phone. "Jessica….I want to thank you. You showed me that I was dishonoring Posi's memory. He never wanted me to be this way. He told me not to give up on love, and I did. Thank you for putting me back on the right path." Kappamon said. Jessica put her hand on Kappamon's shoulder. "You're talking like you're saying goodbye." Jessica observed. Kappamon gave a forced smile and nodded. "That's because I am. Jessica, I'm sorry for all the trouble I put you through. Thank you…for being my friend." The Jessica looking Kappamon then had tears stream down her cheeks. She looked over to Kinandon. "You don't ever have to forgive me, but I am sorry for the evil I've done to you." Kappamon then looked back over to Jessica. "Do you remember when you asked me why I was on Aqualia in this form? I lied. The ShapeChange device didn't malfunction. The truth is….I'm beautiful in this form." Kappamon explained. Jessica hugged her copy tightly. "Kappamon." She said, beginning to cry. Kappamon backed away and used the Digi-Worm phone to open up a wormhole. "Goodbye." She said as she was about to go through it. "Wait!" Kinandon called out. Kinandon was scribbling on a sheet of paper with a pen. He gave the note to Kappamon. "Make sure the general sees this." He said. Then she walked through the wormhole. Evander and Jessica looked at the place where the wormhole had opened and closed with great sadness. Kinandon scoffed. "Good riddance." He said. Kinandon then looked over to AncientMermaidmon. "Let's stop my sister." He said. Ophanimon Falldown Mode had used their conversation as a distraction to hide. She wasn't afraid, but she wanted to see how they'd deal with this powerful mermaid Digimon.

Back on Earth, more damage was continuing to be done by the Aqualian spacecraft and Digimon. There were some mermen and mermaid soldiers on the ground who drug beach goers to their deaths by dragging them underwater and drowning them. Jessica (actually, Kappamon) stepped through a wormhole into the president's command room. "Who are you?" he asked. "I'm….Jessica Glovion. I'm here to atone for my misdeeds."

Sometime later, the President had arranged to hand "Jessica" over to the Aqualian general. The Jessica doppelganger was beamed up into the mothership, and soldiers escorted her into a big metallic green room. In a cage nearby, was Jessica's mother. A soldier had a laser sort of lightsaber-ish dagger up to Victoria Poseidon's throat. Victoria gasped when she saw Kappamon, who she took to be her daughter. "Jessica!" She said. General Coral was in the room. "In case you're wondering," the red haired female general began, "Your mother is our hostage to keep you from trying to fight back with your godlike powers. If you so much as create a single droplet of water, this soldier will decapitate her. And it will be so swift you won't be able to stop it. Laser swords are a million times sharper than metal blades." General Coral said. General Coral got out a lightsaber esque dagger of her own and put it up to Jessica's neck. "Kinandon ordered us to execute you. Any last words?" General Coral said. "NO! PLEASE! MY DAUGHTER IS INNOCENT! SHE WAS BEING IMPERSONATED! IT WAS A SHAPECHANGE DEVICE! PLEASE!" Victoria pleaded. General Coral raised her hand, the hand that wasn't holding the dagger up to "Jessica's" throat. "Be quiet!" She said.

Kappamon didn't look scared. She had resigned herself to her fate. "Jessica." She thought to herself. "I probably won't remember you when I'm reborn, but….I hope you find me. You promised me." She thought. General Coral then swiftly beheaded her. "NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!" Victoria screamed at the top of her lungs. "JESSICA!!!!!! MY BABY!!!!!!!" Victoria screamed before she collapsed in her cage and began sobbing. Victoria looked down at the head and body of the severed woman at her feet. "All hail King Kinandon." She said coldly. Suddenly, the corpse of "Jessica" dispersed into digital particles. "What the hell!?" the short haired general exclaimed. When the digital particles came back together, they formed a large egg. The egg was dark green with yellow stripes around it, and black lines forming a turtle shell pattern. "An egg? So….was Jessica a Digimon this whole time? Have we been duped?" Coral asked. Victoria looked very relieved. If there was one thing she knew about her daughter, it's that she wasn't a Digimon. General Coral looked down at the ground. She saw the piece of paper that Kinandon had given Kappamon previously. She picked it up and took a look at it. "This is the king's handwriting." Coral observed.

The note said;

"To General Coral of the Aqualian army. This condemned criminal is actually a Digimon named Kappamon. She used a ShapeChange device to make herself look like Anastasia Calista Poseidon; the daughter of our previous queen. If you're reading this, Kappamon has already been reverted back into a DigiEgg. You probably think you were tricked, but you weren't. This is the real criminal. I, King Kinandon, write in my own hand that the real Anastasia Poseidon is innocent and is to not be pursued by any military or police force. - Signed, King Kinandon." It had the King's seal stamped on it.
