Metadata Recommendations for DataCite Registration

Description: DataCite is an organization and a format specification for registering DOIs and URLs for research data objects. The format is very generic in terms of its metadata schema. However, it provides a mechanism for users to extend the schema to store metadata relevant to their domain. This group will focus on recommendations for representing metadata associated with chemistry, and will also consider the level of granularity associated with DOIs assigned to research data. Since researchers and organizations are already assigning DOIs to data objects in the chemistry space, this is a good time to examine and promulgate best practices.
