The marking scheme for the board also goes around 80% from externals for both Group 1 and 2 subjects, while 20% is from internals. However, for Group 3, the marking scheme is 50% for both externals and internals. Meanwhile, according to the CBSE system, there is only one grading system.

The exam patterns for both the boards are different. As per the ICSE exam pattern the ICSE class 10 math question paper is given 2.5 hours to solve, meanwhile, for Science subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each paper is of 2 hours. For the CBSE board, students will have two types of assessments – formative and summative.
