What is the difference between Windows 8.1 and 8.1 K?

Windows 8.1 is the latest version of Microsoft's operating system for PCs and tablets. It offers many improvements and features over Windows 8, such as better performance, security, customization, and compatibility. However, not all versions of Windows 8.1 are the same. Depending on the region and market, there are different editions of Windows 8.1 that cater to specific needs and preferences. One of these editions is Windows 8.1 K, which is designed for users in South Korea.

Windows 8.1 K is essentially the same as Windows 8.1, except that it does not include certain media-related technologies that are subject to a patent licensing fee in South Korea. These technologies include Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, and Windows DVD Maker. Instead, Windows 8.1 K comes with a Media Feature Pack that allows users to download and install alternative media players and software from Microsoft or third-party vendors.
