Dice17’s goal is the creation and support of a thriving and inclusive gaming community. We are committed to providing a friendly and safe environment for all of its members and guests, and to welcome players of all skill levels and experience with enthusiasm and kindness.
Anyone who agree to this code of conduct may freely attend D17 events as a guest gamer. There is no official signup required — though we do suggest that you join our WhatsApp group, as most game signups happen there throughout the week. Club membership is required to cast a vote pertaining to club policy or committee elections.
Our code of conduct is a simple outline of the expectations for behaviour by club members and guests. Anyone who accidentally violates these expectations may be spoken with by a member of the committee that oversees the club. Anyone who violates these expectations with malicious intent will have their membership revoked and will no longer be allowed to participate in club functions. All determination of inappropriate behaviour is at the sole discretion of the oversight committee.
You must be at least 18 years of age to seek Dice17 membership or to attend club events as a guest.
Avoid behaviour that insults or diminishes those around you. It is alright to dislike someone; it is not alright to treat someone rudely because your personalities don’t align. A general rule of thumb is to “never punch down.” Making light of a billionaire being out of touch with reality is fine; making light of an unhoused person sleeping in the cold is not.
If you are uncomfortable with the behavior of another club member or guest attendee, please reach out to a member of the oversight committee.
Dice 17 does not tolerate discrimination based on sex, race (including colour, ethnic or national origin or immigration status), sexual orientation, disability, gender, gender reassignment or gender identity, religion or belief, pregnancy or parental status, marital status, or age.
There is no skill or knowledge requirement for joining Dice17 or attending as a guest gamer. You are not required or expected to become a teacher, simply to be kind and to welcome them genuinely to the club.
Failure is an important part of gaming. Nat 1s can make for great stories — be honest when you roll them.
Our WhatsApp community is a hub of friendly conversation on a variety of topics. Chatters are expected to adhere to both the code of conduct as written here and to any chat-specific rules that may exist. These can easily be found by checking the relevant ‘Group Info.’
Both club members and guest gamers are allowed and encouraged to participate in the WhatsApp community. If you need an invite, please email dice17london@gmail.com for a link.
If you have any questions, now or in the future, please feel free to reach out to a member of the club’s oversight committee. The club constitution is also publicly and permanently available for reference.
