Diane Joss, PhD is a neuroscientist and certified mindfulness meditation teacher. The research of Dr. Joss focuses on the clinical and neural effects of mindfulness-based or compassion-based interventions for trauma survivors. Her research has demonstrated that mindfulness-based interventions have significant clinical effects on reducing a wide range of symptoms for childhood trauma survivors, such as perceived stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, anxiety sensitivity, rejection sensitivity and interpersonal reactivity, which are substantiated by neural changes such as structural changes of the hippocampus and amygdala, as well as changes in brain activity and neural network connectivity.Â
