Diana I. Kruger is an economist and senior research leader with over two decades of experience in impact evaluation of health, education, and social policy. She brings an international perspective shaped by work across Latin America and the United States, focusing on translating evidence into actionable insights for decision-makers.
She is Full Professor of Economics at Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI) in Chile, where she previously served as Dean of the School of Government and Chair of the Economics Department. In these roles, she led multidisciplinary teams, managed strategic planning and budgets, and strengthened her unit’s academic programs and partnerships. Diana is committed to mentoring junior researchers and fostering innovation in research design and policy analysis.
Her research combines rigorous statistical inference methods with complex data to assess the impact of education and health policies, generating evidence to guide improvements in short and long-term outcomes. She has led evaluations and data strategy projects for the World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, United Nations, and national governments, and has served on high-level government expert committees shaping employment, education and health reforms.
Diana also contributes to governance in research and education as a board member of the Center on Conflict and Social Cohesion (COES) and the Fulbright Commission in Chile.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
