Dian Marlina, S.Farm,. M.Sc., M.Si., Ph.D.

Dian Marlina obtained bachelor degree (S.Farm) in pharmacy from Universitas Setia Budi in 2013 under the supervision of Dr. IIham Kuncahyo and Dr. Endang Sri Rejeki. Her essay was the optimum of stearic acid and triethanolamine in sunscreen cream of watermelon rind with SLD and tested antioxidant activity to DPPH radical.

In 2013, Dian was enrolled in a double degree master program between Magister Biology, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) and Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) with scholarship from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. In UKSW, she obtained master degree (M.Si) in biology in August 2016 and was awarded as the Best Graduate of the Year. Under the supervision of Prof. Ferdy Samuel Rondonuwu and Dr. Ferry Fredy Karwur, she studied about carotenoids encapsulation technology. Whereas in KGU, she obtained master degree (M.Sc) in chemistry in March 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Yukihiro Ozaki. Her thesis was inter-molecular interaction of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxybutyrate) studied by low-frequency Raman and terahertz spectroscopy.

She was awarded a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) after pursuing doctoral course from Graduate School of Human Development and Environment, Kobe University Japan in March 2020 under the supervision of Prof. Harumi Sato with the scholarship from The Senshu Scholarship Foundation (千趣留学生奨学財団). Her dissertation was Study of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) based polymer blends as a promising new biopolymer material by low-frequency vibrational and two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy.

Dian Marlina is currently a lecturer in Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Setia Budi (USB) Surakarta. She began her professional work in USB since February 2017. She deeply interested to join the fight against plastic pollution through her research which deals with developing food waste of various crustaceans mainly crabs and shrimps as a new biodegradable plastic for the need of medication.
