Privacy Policy for DialNotes
Effective Date: April 19, 2026 Last Updated: April 19, 2026
Welcome to DialNotes. This Privacy Policy explains how DialNotes ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By using DialNotes, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
DialNotes is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
The app accesses the following data only on your device:
The app reads your device contacts to match phone numbers with names.
This data is never uploaded, shared, or stored outside your device.
The app reads your recent call history to detect when a call ends and suggest adding a note.
Call log data is never uploaded, shared, or stored outside your device.
The app monitors phone state (ringing, off-hook, idle) to detect incoming and outgoing calls.
No call content or audio is ever accessed or recorded.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be absolutely clear about what we do not do:
❌ We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier
❌ We do not create user accounts
❌ We do not use analytics or tracking tools
❌ We do not use advertising SDKs
❌ We do not upload your contacts, call logs, or notes to any server
❌ We do not access the internet at any point
❌ We do not record or listen to your calls
❌ We do not share your data with any third party

All data created by DialNotes — including your notes — is stored in a local SQLite database on your device using Android Room.
Data is stored only on your device
Data is not backed up to any cloud service by DialNotes
Data may be included in Android's standard device backup if you have enabled that feature in your device settings
You have full control over your data at all times:
Delete a single note — Tap the delete icon on any note in the Notes screen
Delete all notes — Go to Settings → Clear All Notes
Delete all data — Uninstall the app. This permanently removes all notes and app data from your device
DialNotes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, this policy applies equally to all age groups.
DialNotes does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. The app functions entirely offline and does not communicate with any external server.
Since all data remains on your device, the security of your notes depends on your device's own security measures such as screen lock, encryption, and biometric authentication. We recommend keeping your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated Last Updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of DialNotes after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Open Source & Transparency
DialNotes is built with transparency in mind. The app requires no login, no account creation, and no internet connection. Everything it does happens on your device, under your control.
