TOBY MORFIN

I am a multi-faceted artist working in utilizing pastels, oils, charcoal and other mediums. I was born in Espanola, which is located in Northern New Mexico and I have been painting most of my life. Having lived all over the Southwest, my artwork has been heavily influenced by the rich and diverse cultures of the Hispanic and Native American people who reside there.

The vast majority of my work is based off of my everyday life experiences, observations, and visualizations of my surroundings. The way everyday life affects me is the medium I put into my work.

Sean aspires to educate on Hispanic culture through art and create space for compassion and understanding. Sean received "Best Visual Artist" from Albuquerque the Magazine and the 2019 Hispanic Heritage Award in Arts & Culture. Sean also demonstrates, teaches and presents to children and adults throughout New Mexico on themes related to her art imagery. AMY PADILLA

Born and raised in Chimayo, New Mexico, I have always been surrounded by the beauty and culture of the place I call home. Art has always been a passion of mine since I was young. Watching and seeing my mother draw, paint, and work on murals, was a large part of my artistic inspiration. Art has always been an outlet of self-expression for me. I can remember seeing lowriders and the intricate artwork, amused by the detail and beauty captured. The attention to detail and forms of expression served as motivation to one day be great at my art. As a single mother I strive to be an inspiration for my daughter as well. Being a local up-and-coming artist, I have had many years of experience, and continue to work on many projects. These include tattoos, paintings, murals and portraits, all of which have been self taught. Specializing in acrylic painting, I continue to experiment in different mediums as a learning process. Personal experiences and life lessons are incorporated throughout my artwork. As a Chimayo native, traditional, and cultural influences, guide my creative process with an added flare of modern views.

ISAAC SANDOVAL

I live and work in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In 2012 I cast a giant skillet, it set me on the trajectory that I am currently on. After receiving my B.F.A from New Mexico Highlands University, and M.F.A at Fort Hays State University, I converted an Airstream Argosy into a food truck and operated that for three years outside my studio. In 2017 I opened a brick and mortar restaurant and bar, The Skillet, where both art and food, can be enjoyed by everyone who visits. The Skillet is an evolving project that is one part restaurant, one part art space. I run this project with my wife Shawna, and daughter Charlotte. I drink my coffee black, have two cats, Tim and Tuna, think french toast is the ultimate breakfast carb and I try to approach my life like I fry my eggs, over easy.

ARYSSA AVALOS

Aryssa Avalos is a self taught artist who was born and raised in Northern California and was 3 years old when she began drawing and painting. From there a love and passion grew for art and she began drawing realistic faces with charcoal or pencil and that was her main focus in High school. In 2008, Aryssa relocated to New Mexico and shortly after took a break from her art which was about over a decade. Taking a break this long made Aryssa realize just how much she missed using her talents in the arts and has now commited herself to growing from amateur artist to professional artist and two years ago has started focusing her talents on oil painting. Aryssa’s art is whimsical and lighthearted with attention to fine detail and a surrealist look but heading in the direction of realism.
