My Priorities for Ward 4

As Bradford West Gwillimbury continues to grow, I believe Ward 4 needs thoughtful, practical, and responsible leadership. My priorities are focused on protecting what makes our community special while preparing responsibly for the future.

Smart Growth

Growth must be managed responsibly. Development should be supported by the infrastructure, roads, emergency services, and community facilities needed by our growing population, while preserving the character and charm of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Safe Streets, Strong Public Safety and Emergency Services

Public safety must be one of our community's highest priorities. As BWG grows, we face increasing challenges, including speeding, dangerous driving, traffic congestion, property crime, and increasing demands on our police, fire, and emergency services.

I strongly support our local police officers, professional firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and first responders who work every day to protect our community. Our emergency services must grow with our population, and frontline workers deserve the staffing, equipment, vehicles, technology, training, and mental-health supports they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

I will advocate for:

More visible and proactive policing in our neighbourhoods.
Stronger attention to speeding, dangerous driving, traffic calming, and road safety.
Better coordination between the Town, police, fire services, and community partners as BWG grows.
Responsible investment in policing, fire, and emergency resources while protecting taxpayer value.
Timely replacement and modernization of aging emergency vehicles and essential frontline equipment.
Improved emergency response through practical solutions, including technologies that help emergency vehicles move safely through congested intersections.
Continued support for the mental health and well-being of our first responders.
Pursuing available provincial and other funding opportunities to strengthen public safety without placing unnecessary pressure on local taxpayers.
Better communication between residents, Council, police, fire services, and other emergency partners.

A growing community needs a safety and emergency response plan that grows with it.

Fiscal Accountability

Residents work hard for their money, and their tax dollars must be managed responsibly. I believe in transparent decision-making, careful planning, efficient spending, and ensuring public funds deliver strong value while maintaining the services and infrastructure our growing community needs.

Community Connection

A councillor must be accessible, approachable, and responsive. I am committed to listening to residents, understanding their concerns, and maintaining open communication. Your voice should be heard not only during an election, but throughout the entire term of service.

These priorities reflect the values that have guided my career and community involvement: listening to people, understanding challenges, and working toward practical solutions.

Together, we can build a vibrant, safe, and prosperous Bradford West Gwillimbury for today's residents and future generations.

About Me

About Dhwanish Vaidya

I have proudly called Bradford home since 2015. Over the years, I have come to appreciate the strong sense of community, diversity, and small-town character that make Bradford West Gwillimbury such a special place to live, work, and raise a family.

Family is at the heart of everything I do. My wife and I are proud parents of two wonderful boys, who attend a local high school and elementary school. Our household also includes my aging parents, making our family a true multi-generational home. This experience has given me a deep appreciation for the needs and perspectives of residents at every stage of life—from young children and busy families to seniors and aging parents.

Professionally, I bring more than 26 years of healthcare experience as a physiotherapist. Throughout my career, I have worked in hospitals, private clinics, community health programs, and long-term care facilities. I have also had the privilege of teaching and mentoring future healthcare professionals. My career has taught me the importance of listening carefully, understanding people's concerns, and working toward practical, compassionate solutions.

My commitment to community extends beyond my professional life. As a member of the core executive committee of a local cultural organization, I have helped organize community programs and events and worked alongside the local library to bring cultural and educational opportunities to Bradford families.

Outside of work and community service, I enjoy staying active. My hobbies include table tennis, badminton, tennis, roller skating, and trail hiking. I am also a proud pet lover and currently share our home with an energetic eight-month-old German Shepherd puppy. In fact, many of my neighbours may have already seen me out walking my dog around the neighbourhood!

For me, Bradford West Gwillimbury is more than just a place to live—it is where my family is growing, where my children are building their future, where my parents are aging with us, and where I have developed meaningful connections with neighbours and friends.

My family, my professional experience, and my community involvement have shaped who I am: someone who values service, connection, responsibility, and the importance of listening to people.

I am proud to call Bradford home, and I remain committed to working with residents to help build a vibrant, safe, and prosperous Bradford West Gwillimbury for families, seniors, and future generations.
