Safety Concerns: 2 DJUSD teachers, 1 CPR-certified DJUSD employee, and 3 adults will be on site every day during camp to ensure the safety of all campers.
Waitlist: This camp's maximum student capacity is 30 students. Those who would like to register will be put on a waitlist.
Who:
STEM camp is designed for students who are incoming 7th to 10th grade, especially those who are interested in and curious about science, technology, engineering, and math. The topics this camp will be covering is listed below.
Schedule:
Our general schedule for the week is:
Monday: Introductions + Food Science
Tuesday: Coding + Math
Wednesday: Environmental Science + Biology
Thursday: Chemistry + Physics
Friday: Academic Decathlon contest + Conclusion
There will be lunch breaks and snack breaks integrated in between - snack will be provided. Campers will be split into two groups based on grade.
Safety:
In keeping with DJUSD protocol, two DJUSD-employed teachers, including 1 CPR-certified employee, as well as 3 adults will be present during camp hours every day of the week. This will help ensure the safety of both campers and high school volunteers, as well as providing adult guidance as needed throughout the week.
Profit:
A shirt will be provided to each camper for a total cost of $215. This covers facility costs as well as supply costs. The rest of the profit will go immediately to the DHS clubs participating in this camp (learn more about us here).
