In our culture, it's thoroughly believed that all matter and consciousness are created and nourished by feminine energy. She is the one who consists in herself—the essence of the whole universe. This energy takes several forms to ensure that everything in the cosmos is well maintained. Bhavani, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Annapurna, Kali, and so many other forms are all taken by that one massive energy, the primordial force, Adishakti, who is the eternal mother to all of us! Thus, to celebrate Dhruvaa with immense enthusiasm and splendor and also with the view that we get to know more about our culture, we have the topic 'ध्यानम् आदिशक्तेः' for the Dhruvaa Fest 2022. Our ancient scriptures have endless praise for the Devi. Hence, Mythological stories related to Durga, her battles with evil, the Forms of Devi, Navadurga, and the way all of this is relevant and how it can be related in today's era, as well as several examples of women who led us in our times, are what we are looking forward to seeing from our participants! And in a true sense, this festival of ours would indeed be a genuine and heartfelt offering from us to the Lotus feet of the Adishakti-Devi Durga.
In literature, humour is the ability or state of mind to be amused. This domain of literature includes literary devices like satire, irony, farce, sarcasm, situational humour, hyperbole as humour, and so on and so forth. The ability to overcome a negative situation with a smile is achieved by activating a pinch of humour in our lives. Modern Sanskrit literature includes all the literary works created between the timeline of the 20th century and the present. Characteristic features of these centuries include colonisation, independence movements, technological developments, and the new era of the COVID-19 pandemic. All these years of ups and downs, when viewed in the light of humour, seem vibrant and exciting, both in literature and life. This friends, is the subject matter or theme for DSM 2021. Literature should be approached without fear. This friendly approach is more enjoyable when it is accompanied by humour. Individuals in any state of grief, frustration, or sorrow reach out to Madira rasa, i.e., Alcohol. Instead, humour is a better, safer, healthier, and more social option. Developing both IQ and EQ at the same time, in these distressing situations of the pandemic, what better theme for Dhruvaa? Also, what better entertainment than participating in Dhruvaa?
Adya Shankaracharya introduced the concept of panchayatanam to reduce the fanatical discrimination between Shaivas and Vaishnavas. There is the worship of five deities along with Sri Ram, that is, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman, the most commonly associated Gods; there is also a diverse culture, with one worshipping Lava-Kusha and the other worshipping Bharata-Shatrughna. This combined worship is aimed at following one philosophical and meditative path to understanding the oneness of Atman (the soul). This depicts interdependence as a basic culture in Hinduism. Beautiful and relevant even today. These characters carved thousands of years ago, are still relevant in the modern, developing technological era. All these characters are dear to us and close to our hearts. Poets, dramatists, and writers still get attracted to their stories.

We presented Bollywood in Sanskrit, making it easy and fun for everyone to participate in music and acting events. The college premises were vibrant, with the posters, hangings of favorite characters, quoting famous dialogues in Sanskrit. Marathi actors Suyash Tilak and Sachin Deshpande added to the excitement by attending the prize distribution ceremony.
Our first year was a groundbreaking experience! Without a specific theme, we focused on exploring performing arts, music, art, and knowledge in Sanskrit. We were honored to have celebrities like Swarangi Marathe, Lalit Prabhakar, and Kaustubh Deevan gracing our opening and closing ceremonies. Our Trustee, Mrs. Jyoti Bhadkamkar, Mr. M. R. Kurup, and Principal Dr. B. B. Sharma, were pillars of support, encouraging us throughout. Despite being the first year, Dhruva Sanskrit Mahotsav was a tremendous success, setting the stage for many more memorable years to come!
