Bio
I am a trained biological engineer and scientist who specializes in nanoscience and nanotechnology for agriculture, food, and biological applications. I am investigating organic material-based, next-generation nanozymes and their corresponding application systems for agriculture and food.
I completed my Ph.D.,(Passed doctoral dissertation defense/Completed dissertation deposit) in Agricultural and Biological Engineering(ABE), master's in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign(UIUC), and a bachelor's in Life science from Gachon University, South Korea.
Previously, I was a research staff at the Institute for Basic Science(IBS), and as a staff researcher at Seoul National University Hospital(SNUH), substituting my mandatory military service (석사 후 정부연구기관/공공기관 전문연구요원, in Korean) in South Korea. Also, I was a sponsored research staff/research trainee at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School (BWH, HMS), affiliated with the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology(HST), and a researcher at the SNUH.
I authored 12+ peer-reviewed publications(7+ as first or corresponding author/within 3 years(All Q1), and presented 8+ major conference presentations/proceedings. I am an active reviewer for the 'Current Opinion' journal series, and 'Food Control' (both in Elsevier).
My organic nanozyme research has been spotlighted more than 20 times by popular scientific media platforms and the official media of federal initiatives.
I am currently in the tenure-track faculty job market(Area: Agricultural/Biological Engineering, Bioengineering, Food Science, and Chemical Biology).
