This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how GPS tracker (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal data when you download, install, with, access or use our mobile application (“App”) and any associated services (collectively, the “Services”). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
Data collection: what we collect
We collect or process the following categories of personal data when you use the App:
Location data: This includes precise geolocation and approximate location when enabled, including when the App is running in the foreground or background as permitted by the device’s operating system.
Device identifiers and usage data: This may include device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app version, and how you interact with the App (e.g., timestamps, feature usage).
Captured images and QR code scans: When you use the camera functionality, we may collect images you capture and scan results of QR codes you allow the App to access.
Analytics and performance data: Aggregated and anonymised data about App performance, crashes, network data, and traffic alerts or in-App feature usage.
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as information about race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data unless required by law or you have expressly authorised it.
How we collect data
We collect data by a number of methods:
Direct collection from you: When you actively provide information by registering, uploading images, scanning QR codes, or interacting with the App.
Automated collection via the App: When you enable location tracking, the App gathers data from your device sensors, GPS, network providers, or camera.
Third-party service providers or SDKs: We may engage trusted third-party providers that collect certain data on our behalf. We ensure such providers are contractually bound and comply with GDPR principles.
User device permissions: When you grant permissions (e.g., camera, location, notifications), the App uses those device-capabilities as described in the Permissions Section below.
We use the data we collect for the following legitimate purposes:
To provide, maintain and improve the App’s core functionality.
To enable camera and QR code features so you can capture images and share location-based content or scan QR codes.
To deliver push notifications.
To monitor and analyse usage trends, detect technical issues, perform diagnostics, and optimise performance.
To comply with legal obligations.
To protect our rights and prevent fraud, misuse or technical problems.
Each purpose is aligned with the principle of purpose-limitation under GDPR — we will only use your data for the explicitly stated purposes and not for other incompatible purposes.
In line with GDPR requirements, we will only collect data that is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.
We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to safeguard our legitimate interests (such as for legal compliance), or as required under applicable laws. We regularly review our retention schedules and ensure that data no longer required is disposed of appropriately.
Our App requires certain device-permissions to enable key features, each processed in compliance with GDPR principles:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION – Enables precise real-time GPS tracking so that we can provide route monitoring, zone alerts and live sharing of location.
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION – Enables approximate location tracking (e.g., network-based) when high accuracy is not required, conserving battery and enabling general navigation functions.
CAMERA – Used to scan QR codes and capture images with associated location metadata; you remain in control of which images to capture and share.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS – Enables us to send timely notifications that you opt into, including traffic alerts, zone notifications and status updates.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE – Allows the App to continue running essential tracking services when in the foreground to maintain continuity of tracking and alerts.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION – Enables precise location tracking in active real-time mode when the App is operating in the foreground, ensuring uninterrupted updates.
We only request permissions when required for the features you choose to enable. You may modify or revoke any permission at any time in your device settings without affecting your account or core functionality (though some features may be limited).
We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. These measures include encryption at rest and in transit, strict access controls, regular security assessments, employee training, and incident-response procedures. We review our security practices on an ongoing basis and update them to reflect technological changes, risks and legal requirements.
As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights:
Right of access – You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification – You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) – You can ask to delete your personal data when processing is no longer necessary or when you withdraw consent.
Right to restriction of processing – You can request that we temporarily stop processing your data in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability – You can request your personal data in a structured, commonly-used format, and/or transfer to another controller where technically feasible.
Right to object – Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to processing that is based on those interests.
Right to withdraw consent – Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time; withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Right to lodge a complaint – You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., in your country of residence).
We endeavour to respond to your requests without undue delay and at most within one month, or three months in complex cases (in line with GDPR).
International transfers of data
If we transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure it is protected by enforceable data subject rights and effective legal mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses, binding corporate rules, or other safeguards recognised under GDPR
Children’s privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under 16 without verifiable parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, for example when our Services change, to reflect regulatory updates, or to improve clarity. If we make material changes, we will notify you (for example, via email or in-App notification) prior to the change taking effect and provide you with the opportunity to review the updated Policy. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes acceptance of those changes.
