If you want a rugged, single-layer shield built for harsh weather and wind resistance on your Newell Coach, choose DFRDGFAG Class; if you need a flexible, multi-layered cover tailored specifically for the unique profile of a Tiffin Phaeton, choose ICTUHXYNM Class.
As an SUV owner myself, I know how critical it is to protect a large vehicle from the elements, whether it sits in a driveway or a lot during winter. When comparing these two Class A motorhome covers, the difference isn't just about fabric weight; it is about which specific design philosophy matches your vehicle's shape and your storage environment. Both products aim to solve the same problem—keeping debris out and moisture away—but they approach the engineering differently. One relies on heavy-duty, breathable Oxford cloth, while the other uses a layered composite system designed for fitment on tall, long bodies. This guide cuts through the noise to help you decide which one belongs on your rig without getting lost in marketing fluff.
• DFRDGFAG Class: Built with durable 420D Oxford fabric and reinforced stitching for maximum abrasion resistance and weather shielding, though its rigid structure requires precise measurement to avoid gaps. Best for owners who prioritize long-term durability and wind stability.
• ICTUHXYNM Class: Features a layered nonwoven and film construction that offers flexibility and easier handling over large, tall profiles, though the multi-layer design may feel less substantial against heavy hail compared to heavy canvas. Best for owners seeking a custom-like fit for specific Tiffin models.
• Who is this for? If you drive a Newell Coach (2000–2006) and face high winds, pick DFRDGFAG. If you own a Tiffin Phaeton (2010–2011) and value ease of positioning, pick ICTUHXYNM.
The DFRDGFAG Class cover is engineered for the owner who treats their Class A motorhome as a long-term investment that demands serious protection. The standout feature here is the material itself: 420D Oxford fabric. In the world of outdoor gear, "D" stands for denier, a unit of measure for fiber thickness. A 420D rating indicates a thick, woven textile that is significantly more resistant to tearing and punctures than standard thin vinyls. This isn't a flimsy sheet you throw over the RV and hope for the best; it is a protective shell designed to withstand years of exposure to rain, snow, dust, and bird droppings. The double-stitching reinforces stress points, ensuring that the seams do not split under tension when the wind picks up.
For the SUV owner or anyone accustomed to heavy-duty gear, the security features of this cover are particularly appealing. It utilizes a multi-point secure strap system that includes three extended cross straps and two longitudinal straps. These are not just decorative ties; they are functional tools designed to minimize movement. The adjustable quick-release buckles allow you to pull the fabric taut against the body of the motorhome, reducing the "flapping" effect that can damage paint or wear down the cover material over time. Additionally, the elasticized lower edge acts as a secondary seal, hugging the contours of the RV to keep dirt and leaves from blowing underneath.
However, this level of durability comes with a requirement for precision. Because the fabric is sturdy and the cut is specific to the Newell Coach Series 2000 (1990–2006), you must measure your vehicle meticulously. You cannot simply guess the dimensions. You need to account for rear ladders, bumpers, and any roof-mounted equipment like air conditioning units or solar panels. If your measurements are off by even an inch, the fit might be compromised. This product is ideal for someone who has the patience to take accurate measurements and wants a cover that will last for seasons without degrading. It is also worth noting the eight air vents, strategically placed to balance pressure and release trapped heat, preventing condensation buildup that can lead to mold or mildew inside the cover.

On the other side of the aisle, the ICTUHXYNM Class cover takes a different approach, focusing on the specific geometry of the Tiffin Phaeton 40QTH (2010–2011). This model is designed for the owner who values a "soft" fit and ease of installation over raw tensile strength. The core of its design lies in its layered material construction. Instead of a single heavy weave, it combines nonwoven material, an intermediate film, and a soft inner section. This layering creates a flexible body that can conform to the tall, long profile of the Phaeton without requiring the immense force needed to stretch a heavy canvas over a similar shape. For many users, this flexibility translates to a much easier experience when trying to drape the cover over the vehicle alone or with minimal assistance.
The ventilation strategy here is integrated directly into the panel design. The built-in vent sections work in tandem with the large surface area of the cover to facilitate airflow. While this sounds similar to the vented design of the DFRDGFAG, the implementation here feels more seamless within the fabric layers. This is crucial for routine vehicle storage where the goal is to let the motorhome "breathe" without creating a vacuum effect that could suck the cover tight against the paint. The multiple adjustable fastening points are another key advantage for this specific model. Because the Tiffin Phaeton has a distinct, generous profile, having numerous locations to arrange and secure the straps allows for a customized fit that hugs the vehicle's curves without leaving loose pockets of fabric.
This cover is also notable for its convenient access design. It includes dedicated areas that allow you to reach specific sections of the motorhome without stripping off the entire cover. This is a practical feature for those who store their RV seasonally but need to check fluids, move the vehicle occasionally, or retrieve items stored in external compartments. The soft inner-facing material is a significant plus for preserving the finish of the coach, as it reduces direct rubbing and friction. However, buyers should be aware that this layered, flexible design might not offer the same level of impact resistance as a heavy 420D Oxford weave. If you live in an area prone to heavy hail or falling branches, the softer layers might absorb the shock better but could be more susceptible to tearing from sharp objects compared to the tougher Oxford option.
• Best for Wind Resistance → DFRDGFAG Class: The combination of 420D Oxford fabric, double stitching, and a robust strap system makes this the superior choice for coastal areas or regions with frequent strong gusts.
• Best for Specific Model Fitment → ICTUHXYNM Class: Designed explicitly for the Tiffin Phaeton 40QTH, the layered construction accommodates its unique tall and long dimensions with greater flexibility than a generic heavy cover.
• Best for Durability Against Debris → DFRDGFAG Class: The single, thick layer of Oxford cloth provides a harder barrier against sharp twigs, heavy snow loads, and abrasive dust compared to the softer nonwoven layers.
• Best for Ease of Installation → ICTUHXYNM Class: The lighter, multi-layered fabric is generally easier to maneuver and drape over a large vehicle without needing excessive force to stretch the material.
• Best for Ventilation Balance → Tie (Different Approaches): Both offer excellent airflow, but DFRDGFAG uses eight distinct covered openings, while ICTUHXYNM integrates vents directly into the layered panels.
• Best for Access During Storage → ICTUHXYNM Class: The dedicated access areas are highlighted as a primary feature for reaching vehicle sections without full removal, whereas DFRDGFAG focuses on roll-up zipper panels.
• Best for Long-Term Weather Shielding → DFRDGFAG Class: The reinforced double stitching and water-resistant properties of the Oxford fabric suggest a longer lifespan in harsh, year-round conditions.
• Best for Paint Protection → ICTUHXYNM Class: The soft inner section of the layered design is specifically noted for reducing friction, which is beneficial for delicate finishes on newer models.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the DFRDGFAG Class if my priority was absolute protection and longevity. The 420D Oxford fabric represents a higher tier of durability that gives me confidence in storm-prone climates. However, if I were driving a Tiffin Phaeton and found the heavy canvas difficult to manage, I would switch to the ICTUHXYNM Class for its tailored flexibility and ease of use. Ultimately, for an SUV owner looking to apply these lessons to larger vehicles, the DFRDGFAG Class remains the safer bet for peace of mind regarding structural integrity and weather defense.
No, this cover is specifically designed for the Newell Coach Series 2000 (1990–2006). You must verify your exact model and year before purchasing, as dimensions vary significantly between manufacturers.
The product description highlights the main cover, straps, and access panels. Unlike the DFRDGFAG package which explicitly lists four included tire covers and a storage bag, you should check the current listing details for the ICTUHXYNM Class to see if accessories are bundled.
The DFRDGFAG Class uses eight separate covered ventilation openings positioned around the front, rear, and sides to release trapped air. The ICTUHXYNM Class integrates vent sections directly into its layered fabric design to allow air movement across the large surface area.
Both covers feature soft inner-facing materials to prevent scratching, but the thicker 420D Oxford fabric of the DFRDGFAG Class offers a more robust barrier against sticky substances and corrosive chemicals found in bird droppings and tree sap.
