I Guest Spoke!!!
Hello Everyone,
I think something is wrong with me! I prefer public speaking over talking one on one. Obviously nothing is physically wrong, but most kids my age dread public speaking, while I am quite the opposite. Sure I get nervous before hand, but I prefer a microphone, a podium, and an audience to one on one conversations. Let me explain. You can plan out a speech, but you can't plan out a conversation no matter how hard you try. I know this probably makes me sound like a control freak but I'm more worried about saying something wrong and hurting someone's feelings when talking one on one. When you're up on stage, you don't have to worry about responding or whether or not you're going to answer correctly. You can write your speech and have weeks to think about your answer and fix it before you share it, rather than a seconds when you're talking with someone.
Luckily for me, I had the opportunity to be a guest speaker at Christ the King Lutheran Church, the church my father pastors at. The speaking date was set for August 21, and I had ordered twenty devotionals to sell there. However, as the speaking date approached, the shipping date did not. Every time I checked my email the shipping date was moved back again and again. The last time I checked the shipping date was Saturday and found the shipping date had been moved to Monday the 22nd. We decided it was best to move my speaking date to September so I would be able to sell my books. Then, the most amazing thing happened; Saturday night I came home to a giant box filled with all of my books. It was a miracle; my publisher doesn't deliver on weekends, but there they were. What was even more amazing, was how they shipped the books. Normally the publisher only ship their books in plain cardboard boxes. Since it had rained early that day box was soaking wet and if they had packaged it normally all my books would have been ruined. However, my books were not package regularly. When I opened the box my books where all wrapped in plastic wrap without a drop of rain on them. It was a miracle. My books arrived water free on time. Isn't that just amazing?
Anyways, that night I rushed to get ready. I had less than twenty four hour notice that this thing was back on. It was the Sterling Fest all over again. I'm sorry I didn't tell any of you before hand, but don't worry; it was recorded. For the full service click here. For just the part where I speak, scroll down to the bottom of this page.
I don't know what to write here,

P.S Last week I entered my book in the Armada fair and it won first place and Youth Best of Show!
Special thanks to my sister for taking the thumb nail picture.
