Happy New Year
Hello Everyone,
I'm back! I've been adjusting too high school and with mid terms and everything I had to put a pause on my book. Don't worry, I never put a halt on God. God has been moving in my new school and I'm very excited to see what is to come. This was the first new years that I spent away at a church retreat. It was awesome and powerful. We even had one of our pastors propose to my group leader.
As we all know, with the new year comes new year's resolutions. I would greatly encourage everyone too make some. I'll list mine at the bottom. The last speaker at retreat talked about making reasonable goals and slowly building on them. He also proposed, practice makes permanent.
Another thing I would like to encourage is prayer. Our main guest speaker at retreat canceled the day before. Instead of listening to a last minute sermon, we spent time learning how to pray. Hopefully one of your resolutions involves praying daily. One of the hardest things I found when it comes to praying was forgiving myself. Since then I've been praying for the Lord to give me the peace and ability to forgive myself. For more prayer instructions read the beginning of Luke 11 and Matthew 18:19-20.
The final thing I would like to promote is selecting a blank notebook and everyday filling out who God is as a form of worship. It also allows you to meet God and develop an argument for the Lord. At my pastor's suggestion everyday is going to be a letter. The first day of the month is A, second is B, third is C, and so on. When the alphabet ends your free to write what ever God is speaking too you and pick a letter of your own. Today is J.
Go make those goals,
Abigail Sandison
