Tankobox is a personal reading app and writing companion. This policy explains what data the app handles.
THE SHORT VERSION
No account, no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or identity.
Your data lives on your device. Your library, reading progress, saved stories and settings are stored locally.
We do not sell your data, run ads, or use third-party trackers or analytics.
WHAT DATA IS HANDLED, AND WHY
On-device data. Your library, reading progress, saved stories and preferences are stored on your device. You can export a backup or erase everything at any time in Settings, under Data.
iCloud sync (optional, Apple devices). If you turn on iCloud Sync, that same data is stored in your own private iCloud so it appears on your other Apple devices. It is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive it or store it on our servers.
Story generation (Muse). Text prompts you type into Muse are sent to our processing service and our AI provider solely to generate the text you asked for. Prompts are not linked to your identity, not used to advertise to you, and not sold.
Content you add. When you add a library URL or open content, the app fetches that content, and some images through our proxy for reliability. Sources you choose to add are governed by their own policies. The app itself hosts and bundles no reading content.
Purchases. The one-time Full Access purchase is processed by Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase or restore occurred. We never see your payment details.
Diagnostics. We collect no analytics and no advertising identifiers.
DATA SHARING
We do not sell or share your personal data. Limited data leaves your device only to provide a feature you asked for: generating a story, fetching content you added, or completing a purchase through Apple.
CHILDREN
Tankobox is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
YOUR CHOICES
Erase all local data: Settings, then Data, then Clear data.
Turn iCloud Sync on or off: Settings, then Sync.
Manage or restore purchases through your Apple ID.
