Overview
You can delete your DevLink account directly from within the app. When you do, we start a short grace period and then permanently remove your profile and associated data. This page explains the steps, what gets deleted, timelines, and how to contact us.

How to delete your account (in-app)
Open the DevLink app and sign in.
Go to Profile → Privacy & Account.
Tap Request account deletion.
If prompted, re-authenticate (for security).
Confirm the request.
That’s it. You’ll be signed out immediately and your account enters a short grace period.
What happens next
Grace period: Your account is scheduled for deletion after 7 days.
During the grace period: You can cancel the request by signing in again and tapping Cancel deletion request on the same screen.
After the grace period: Deletion is permanent and can’t be reversed.
Data we delete
After the grace period, we permanently delete:
Your user profile (name, email, bio, avatar).
Your portfolio items.
Your projects (if you’re the client/owner) and proposals you submitted.
Your reviews authored by you (soft-deleted immediately; fully removed at purge).
Your device push token (FCM) and app preferences.
Note: Content that other users need for ongoing transactions (e.g., messages or project artifacts) may be anonymized or detached from your identity, so conversations remain consistent for the other party.
Data we may retain
We may retain limited information where we have a legal or security obligation, such as:
Records necessary to prevent fraud or abuse.
Minimal logs for security, auditing, or regulatory compliance.
Any retained information is stored securely and is not used for product features.
Can I restore the account?
Yes, during the 7-day grace period. Open the app, sign in, and choose Cancel deletion request.
No, after deletion. After the purge date, the account and data are not recoverable.
Export your data
If you need a copy of your data before deletion, contact us and we’ll assist you with a GDPR/CCPA-style export.
