FirstRinggit built the FirstRinggit app as an Ad Supported app. This SERVICE is provided by FirstRinggit at no cost and is intended for use “as is.”

Data Processing for Calculators: The calculations are primarily performed locally on your device. However, to provide features like “Loan Comparison” and “Market Rate Checks” (based on government OPR rates), we may fetch current market data from external servers. If you choose to save the results of these calculations as a PDF, the data you entered (e.g., loan amount, interest rates) is processed to generate the file. We do not store these calculation inputs on our servers unless you voluntarily share them with us for support purposes.

1.2 AI-Powered Savings Recommendations

FirstRinggit includes AI-powered features designed to help users identify potential saving opportunities and improve financial awareness.

To provide these recommendations, the app may analyze information that you voluntarily enter, such as income, expenses, spending categories, budget goals, and financial habits. This analysis is performed to generate personalized insights, budgeting suggestions, and potential saving strategies.

These recommendations are provided for informational purposes only and should not be considered financial, investment, legal, or professional advice. Users remain responsible for their own financial decisions.

Data Privacy: We do not sell your personal financial information to third parties. Any information used to generate AI recommendations is processed solely to provide and improve the feature.

1.3 Spin Wheel Feature

The app includes a “Spin Wheel” feature for users to identify their “saving type” or to engage with financial wellness content.

Information Collected: This feature does not collect personal identifiers. It may utilize your device’s accelerometer or gyroscope (for the spinning motion) and may record the final result of the spin. This data is non-identifiable and used purely for user engagement and interaction.

2. Permissions We Use

To ensure the functionality of the app and to protect your data, FirstRinggit requires certain device permissions. Below is a detailed explanation of why we use these permissions and how they affect your privacy and security.

Camera
Why: To allow you to set a unique profile photo (taking a picture).
Security: Read Only. Accessed only when you explicitly press “Take Photo”. No background recording. Images are processed and stored locally or on our servers based on your action.

Contacts
Why: To allow you to add/edit attendees for event management features (if applicable).
Security: Opt-in. Accessed only if you choose to add a participant from your address book. Your entire contacts list is not uploaded to our servers.

Microphone
Why: To add audio to recorded videos (if you create video content within the app).
Security: Opt-in. Access is requested only when you activate video recording or voice features. The app does not listen to you when closed or not in use.

Speech Recognition
Why: To power the Voice Input (Beta) feature, allowing you to speak numbers into Loan Calculator fields.
Security: Transient Processing. Voice data is sent only for transcription purposes. We do not permanently store or share your voice recordings.

Photo Library (Read)
Why: To allow you to select a profile picture or an image from your gallery.
Security: User Control. Accessed only when you choose “Choose from Gallery”. We do not analyze or scan your photos without your direct input.

Photo Library (Add)
Why: To allow you to save generated reports (e.g., Loan PDFs) and captured images/videos to your device’s photo library.
Security: Write-Only. We only add files you request to save. We do not read your other photos via this permission.

Location (When In Use)
Why: To validate user security by detecting suspicious login attempts or unusual activity.
Security: Privacy-First. Accessed only when actively using the app. Uses coarse (network-based) location to determine country/region. We do not track precise GPS or your movement history.

User Tracking
Why: To deliver personalized ads to you via our advertising partners (AdMob).
Security: Transparency. You are prompted to opt-in or opt-out via system dialog. If denied, you still see ads (just less relevant). We do not sell personal data; we share a device identifier for ad targeting.

Whenever you use our Service, in the event of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your device called Log Data.
