Representative to the Devens Educational Advisory Committee (DEAC)

January 2017

In his role as liaison to the Devens Educational Advisory Committee (DEAC), Vice Chairman, Robert Corrieri represents the Devens Committee at all DEAC public meetings, stays apprised on the current undertakings of the DEAC and reports findings back to the committee.

Further Robert aids interested parties (i.e., individuals, home owner associations, business, local officials, civic groups) in their discussions, input, community participation and information requests.

Currently, Robert Corrieri is Vice Chairman of the DEAC.

Representative to the Joint Boards of Selectmen (JBOS)

In his role as the representative to the Joint Board of Selectmen (JBOS), Chairman, Tom Kinch represents the Devens Committee at all JBOS public meetings, stays apprised on the current undertakings of the JBOS and reports findings back to the committee.

Further Tom aids interested parties (i.e., individuals, home owner associations, business, local officials, civic groups) in their discussions, input, community participation and information requests.

CMMCP Mosquito Control

On behalf of the Devens residents, the Devens Committee stays apprised on the current undertakings of the Devens Enterprise Commission (DEC) participation within the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP).

The CMMCP was created by the Massachusetts State Legislature in 1973, and currently consists of 40 cities and towns in Central Massachusetts, from both Worcester and Middlesex Counties, covering over 720 square miles.

In Devens, spray operations are conducted in residential areas and only after an investigation has confirmed the existence of mosquitoes has exceeded a pre-determined threshold. Spraying is done after sunset utilizing handheld or truck mounted sprayers.

EPA / BRAC / RAB

As liaisons to the Department of Army, Devens Base Re-alignment and Closure (BRAC) Environmental Office, the members of Devens Committee (on a rotating basis) represent the Devens Committee at all Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) public meetings, stay apprised on the current undertakings of the U.S. Army's environmental restoration program and report findings back to the committee.

Further the Devens Committee aids interested parties (i.e., individuals, home owner associations, business, local officials, civic groups) in their discussions, input, community participation and information requests.
