Then I can print correctly.. I do not have this issue with HP universal driver or Lexmark universal driver. Even though they still are set to letter on both UP and the client, A4 prints correctly on the printer..

To use AirPrint, you don't need to install an app, additional drivers, or other software. AirPrint is a technology built into most popular printer models, including the printers and print servers listed here.

Similar to AirPrint printers, these USB devices allow you to print or scan without having to install additional drivers. Because they require a USB connection, they support driverless printing or scanning only from Mac computers.

Hello, not sure what changed because I haven't changed anything at driver level or affinity version for some time now, but lately affinity designer doesn't get the print size from the driver in the print dialog box.

Hi nitro912gr,

Thanks for letting us know - what printer are you using?

I've been using a HP Deskjet 3050a and have been able to reproduce what you're seeing. Some sizes (A4, A5) update the dialog first time, where as other sizes (4x6in, 8x10in don't). For the sizes that don't if I go back into the Printer Properties and click OK again, the size then updates in the print dialog. That would explain why it doesn't always happen for you as well! See attached video.

I'll get this passed over to development.

I mostly have problems with selecting custom sizes that is like 50% of what I print, but after a few tries the dialog box change from defined from printer to custom size and it take the size from the driver.

I recently installed a new 2nd hand printer for a classroom environment - Develop ineo+ 35 (Generic Color MF30-1). I connected it to the network and all and it works fine. It's just that I'm wondering what would be the optimal driver to use. All can work fine, I'm just trying to choose one here and want it to be the best option.

So I understand the PostScript is technically better quality (though not something that's likely to be noticed in the basic print jobs I need), whereas PCL6 sounds to be less hardware demanding and faster (which is important since no one likes to wait for pages to roll out). Then there's the XPS driver - here I've been having trouble finding out how it compares to PS or PCL. So I understand it has some advantages; not quite sure. So is it a good middleground between the quality of PS and the speed of PCL? Any help or knowledge would be appreciated here. 17dc91bb1f
