At DevBox, we take user privacy extremely seriously. This Privacy Policy details how data is handled within the DevBox – JSON Formatter, JWT Decoder & Developer Tools extension.
1. Zero Data Collection & Processing
DevBox is built as an offline-first, local-only developer workspace.
No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, track, or share any personal data, identifiers, or usage logs.
No Code/Snippet Transmission: Any data you paste, format, convert, encode, or decode (including JSON payloads, JWTs, Base64 strings, HTML preview source codes, or passwords) remains entirely local within your browser session.
No Server Connections: The extension does not make external network calls, API requests, or server connections.
2. Local Storage Usage
DevBox utilizes the standard Chrome local storage API (chrome.storage.local) solely on your physical machine to:
Save your active tool tab selection (so you don't lose your spot when reopening the extension).
Save your appearance theme preference (Dark, Light, or System).
This data never leaves your device and is not shared with any third party.
3. Permissions Used
DevBox requests the following permissions, adhering strictly to the principle of least privilege:
activeTab: Used to display a temporary, local color picker banner on the active tab context when you select the Color Picker tool.
scripting: Required to run the native EyeDropper action on your active tab when clicked.
storage: Required to save user preferences locally (Theme and active tab).
4. Third-Party Services
DevBox does not contain any third-party ads, analytics scripts, trackers, or external code integrations.
